This is a remote contract opportunity for a highly skilled engineer with deep expertise in Azure IoT, MQTT, .NET, and PostgreSQL. Project Overview Our EMS platform connects edge controllers managing solar PV systems, batteries, EV chargers, smart meters, and other energy devices to a secure cloud platform. The primary objective is to build a scalable, secure, and multi-tenant IoT infrastructure that ingests real-time telemetry and exposes reliable APIs for monitoring and control. Responsibilities Design MQTT topic hierarchy and payload schemas for telemetry, alarms, commands, acknowledgments, and heartbeats. Build an end-to-end Azure ingestion pipeline: MQTT / Azure IoT Hub Azure Functions Azure Service Bus PostgreSQL Design scalable PostgreSQL schemas optimized for high-volume time-series telemetry. Implement secure cloud architecture using Azure Key Vault, Managed Identities, RBAC, TLS certificates, and device authentication. Develop production-quality backend services using C#, ASP.NET Core, and Entity Framework Core. Lead architecture decisions, perform code reviews, mentor developers, and establish engineering best practices. Collaborate with hardware vendors to finalize device-cloud interface specifications. Configure Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and support deployment automation.
