I have an existing .srt caption file that now needs to meet a couple of very clear formatting rules before it can be delivered to my client. The only structural change I’m after is alignment: Each asset should be center justified and if multiple lines are necessary; each line must be broken so that they are of similar character lengths FAIL: The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog PASS: The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog If your workflow involves Subtitle Edit, Aegisub, or a similar tool, great—use whatever ensures compatibility across VLC, Premiere Pro, and Final Cut. Deliverables • A single, fully center-aligned .srt file that respects my font instructions and passes a quick spot-check in at least two common media players in 24 hours. There are three .SRT files I need this done for. After delivery I’ll run a quick review; if everything lines up and displays in the specified typeface, we’re done.
