I am converting a small city car to full electric power and need the complete motor-to-wheel package laid out in SolidWorks. The core focus is the motor and drivetrain, so every model, mount and shaft you create should revolve around a single high-torque brushless DC motor. Scope • Position the motor, gearbox (if required) and final drive within a very tight engine bay while preserving existing suspension pick-up points. • Design custom motor mounts, couplings and adaptor plates that can be fabricated from aluminium or mild steel plate. • Specify reduction ratios and gear arrangement that deliver strong launch torque yet allow 110 km/h cruise without over-revving the motor. • Route half-shafts and CV joints, checking angles and plunge travel against current suspension geometry. • Balance mass distribution and keep unsprung weight changes to a minimum. • Verify clearances with dynamic envelopes; include simple Motion or FEA checks where interference or stress is likely. Deliverables (native SolidWorks 2020 or newer) 1. Fully-constrained 3D assembly of motor, mounts, gearbox/reducer, differential and shafts. 2. Detailed part drawings ready for laser-cutting or CNC machining. 3. Bill of materials with material specs and off-the-shelf components listed by part number. 4. Short report summarising design decisions, torque path calculations and any simulation results. Acceptance criteria • All parts fit within the provided engine-bay envelope (STEP file will be supplied after award). • Drivetrain withstands peak stall torque of 450 Nm with a safety factor of 2.0. • No component clashes during ±50 mm suspension travel and ±30° steering lock. I will be on hand to supply the original ICE sub-frame model and answer dimension queries quickly so the work can move forward without delay.

Hi The key challenge here is packaging the motor, reduction/final drive and half-shafts into the existing ICE engine-bay envelope while maintaining suspension/steering clearances and handling the 450 Nm peak torque requirement. I can develop the complete SolidWorks drivetrain layout, including motor mounts, adaptor plates, couplings, differential, shafts and fabrication-ready drawings. I’ll also verify torque path, gear ratio, CV joint angles/plunge, ±50 mm suspension travel and ±30° steering lock, with FEA/Motion checks where required. Deliverables will include the fully constrained SolidWorks assembly, manufacturing drawings, BOM with material/off-the-shelf components, and a concise engineering report. Can you provide the motor specifications (rated/peak RPM and torque) along with the existing ICE sub-frame STEP model? Best regards, Arati M.

Hi, I’m a mechanical/product design engineer with strong experience in SolidWorks, drivetrain/mechanical systems, structural design, FEA, CNC fabrication, and vehicle component integration. I can develop the complete motor-to-wheel package around your high-torque BLDC motor and existing city-car geometry. I can handle: • Motor, reducer/gearbox and differential packaging within the engine bay • Custom motor mounts, adaptor plates and couplings • Gear/reduction ratio selection based on 450 Nm peak torque and 110 km/h target speed • Half-shaft/CV joint design and suspension/steering clearance checks • Dynamic clearance analysis through ±50 mm suspension travel and ±30° steering lock • Torque-path and load calculations with SF 2.0 • Mass distribution and unsprung-weight considerations • Motion/FEA checks where required • Manufacturing-ready aluminium/mild-steel components Deliverables: • Fully constrained SolidWorks 2020+ assembly • Detailed laser/CNC manufacturing drawings • Complete BOM with materials and part numbers • Torque, ratio and drivetrain calculations • Simulation/clearance results and design report I’ll work directly from your ICE sub-frame and engine-bay STEP data, preserving the existing suspension pickup points and designing the drivetrain around the actual available envelope. I can start with the packaging and drivetrain architecture, then progress to detailed mounts, shafts, drawings and validation. Best regards,

Hi, I reviewed your project requirements and I can help you develop a practical, production-ready solution—not just a visually complete CAD model. I’m a mechanical engineer with 13+ years of experience in product design, mechanical systems, CAD development, engineering analysis, and multidisciplinary coordination. Depending on the project, I can support concept development, detailed 3D modelling, assemblies, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, technical calculations, simulations, and fabrication-ready files. My focus is always on clear drawings, realistic detailing, manufacturability, and fast communication throughout the project. I work mainly with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS, Revit, Fusion 360, and related engineering tools. You can review similar design and engineering work in my profile. Once I see the available drawings, dimensions, and expected deliverables, I can suggest the most efficient way to proceed. Best regards, Gökay Zaralı

Hi there, We understand you are seeking a skilled designer for the compact EV drivetrain layout for your city car conversion project, focusing on a complete motor-to-wheel package in SolidWorks. This project aligns well with TRYGVE Studio's expertise in SolidWorks product development and mechanical design, where we frequently handle detailed CAD modelling, assembly design, and manufacturing drawings for custom components. Our approach would typically involve working closely with you to integrate the motor, gearbox, and final drive, designing the necessary custom mounts and adaptors, and ensuring all clearances and functional requirements are met within the specified engine bay envelope. We can assist with creating the fully-constrained 3D assembly, detailed part drawings for fabrication, a Bill of Materials, and a summary report as requested. We invite you to connect for a brief discussion to delve into the project's specific requirements, such as the exact deliverables and timelines, which will allow us to refine the scope and ensure a successful collaboration. https://www.freelancer.in/u/faisal8071 Regards, Ar. Hi, Nice to meet you. My name is Edwin Dallas. I carefully reviewed your requirements for a complete motor-to-wheel EV drivetrain package in SolidWorks 2020+. I understand the focus is a high-torque BLDC motor with gearbox/reducer, differential, custom mounts, couplings, adaptor plates, and half-shafts, all packaged within the existing engine bay while preserving suspension geometry. For your project, I will provide: ✔ Fully constrained SolidWorks assembly ✔ Motor, reducer, differential, mounts and shafts ✔ Fabrication-ready part drawings ✔ Gear/reduction ratio and torque calculations ✔ CV angle, plunge and clearance checks ✔ Dynamic interference checks through suspension/steering travel ✔ Basic Motion/FEA verification where required ✔ Complete BOM with materials and component part numbers ✔ Short technical design report I will design around the 450 Nm peak stall torque with the required 2.0 safety factor and verify clearances for ±50 mm suspension travel and ±30° steering lock. I am ready to review your ICE sub-frame STEP model and begin immediately. Best regards, Edwin Dallas

Hi, Two questions worth settling before detailed design starts. Is 450 Nm peak stall at the motor shaft or at the wheel? Through a single-speed reduction those are very different design cases, at 8:1 and SF 2.0, roughly 900 Nm vs 3,600 Nm through the coupling and adaptor plate. It drives plate thickness, coupling selection, and whether mild steel is viable. Are you open to retaining the original transaxle final drive and differential? Adapting the motor to the existing gearbox input keeps CV joints, half-shaft lengths, plunge range and joint angles at OEM values, so your ±50 mm travel and ±30° lock criteria are met by geometry you already have rather than by new analysis. It removes the highest-risk item in the scope. If the ratio over-revs the motor at 110 km/h, we change the final drive, not the architecture. I'm a mechanical engineer running a remote practice in chassis architecture, suspension kinematics and FEA validation. Relevant work: drivetrain packaging and cooling architecture on an F1-inspired prototype EV, plus Adams-validated suspension kinematics across several builds. SolidWorks native, fully-constrained assemblies, drawings that go straight to laser or CNC. Send the sub-frame model and engine-bay STEP and I'll open with a ratio and duty study against your motor's torque curve. Ali Ellithy
