I’m expanding an electric-vehicle program and need an automation engineer who already understands the unique behaviour of traction motors, motor controllers, and steering controllers in an EV environment. Your background should let you move quickly from concept to hardware-in-the-loop without a long learning curve on high-voltage safety, torque commands, regenerative braking logic, and steering-by-wire nuances. Here’s what I’m looking for right now: • Analyse my existing drive and steering control architecture and spot any weaknesses in signal flow, software logic, or fault handling. • Propose and implement automated test sequences so we can validate new firmware drops at the push of a button—ideally using common EV toolchains such as MATLAB/Simulink, CANoe, or similar. • Build scripts that log, post-process, and visualise motor current, inverter temperature, and steering angle data so issues can be traced in minutes rather than hours. • Document every change clearly so the next engineer can follow the trail without guessing. I’m open on whether you focus more on design, testing, or long-term troubleshooting; tell me where you add the most value and how you plan to attack it. The immediate deliverable is a working automated test bench with repeatable results and clear pass/fail criteria for each control module. If you’ve already wrestled with FOC algorithms, CAN FD messaging, or steering torque overlay in an EV, you’ll feel right at home. Send a brief note outlining similar work you’ve completed, the automation tools you prefer, and your earliest start date, and we can dive straight into the technical details.
