Freelance Audio / Acoustic Engineer – Speaker Selection & Acoustic Optimization We are looking for an experienced Audio / Acoustic Engineer to work with us on a freelance basis for our IoT smart speaker product. Our product has already been developed, validated, and is currently in the mass manufacturing stage. We have successfully deployed multiple devices in the field. The only remaining work is to finalize the speaker driver selection, acoustic tuning, and enclosure optimization to achieve the highest possible audio quality. Scope of Work * Evaluate our existing IoT speaker hardware and enclosure. * Recommend the most suitable speaker driver(s) based on our product dimensions, amplifier, and power requirements. * Optimize the internal acoustic design to maximize speech clarity and overall sound performance. * Recommend enclosure modifications (if required) to improve audio output. * Suggest the ideal speaker specifications, including impedance, wattage, sensitivity, frequency response, and magnet type. * Recommend acoustic materials, damping techniques, passive radiators, or bass ports if beneficial. * Minimize distortion, vibration, resonance, and unwanted noise. * Tune the speaker system for clear voice reproduction and balanced sound. * Work with our engineering team during testing and provide recommendations until the desired audio performance is achieved. Required Skills * Proven experience in speaker driver selection and acoustic engineering. * Experience designing or optimizing smart speakers, Bluetooth speakers, IoT devices, or consumer audio products. * Strong understanding of speaker acoustics, enclosure design, DSP tuning, amplifier matching, and audio measurement. * Ability to recommend commercially available components suitable for mass production. * Experience optimizing products for manufacturing while maintaining excellent sound quality.
