I have a single-track sound file from a film scene that is being sabotaged by a constant mechanical hum. I need that hum lowered to about 25 to 30 % of its current level so it reads as natural room tone rather than an abrasive distraction. Here is what has to stay intact: • First half of the scene: there is no dialogue, only footsteps, light movement, the clink of a plate, milk being poured, and similar kitchen sounds. Those natural action sounds must stay full and clear; only the mechanical background noise should be softened. • Second half of the scene: two actors speak. Their dialogue, along with the same subtle ambient details, must remain untouched in tone and presence while the mechanical bed is knocked back. The finished track should sound “normal” and production-ready—no pumping, no dulling of voices, and no total silence where room tone should live. The cleaned file must be delivered in its original format and length because otherwise, it won't drop in. A quick note on what tools or passes you used (iZotope RX, Adobe Audition, spectral denoise, etc.) would help me track revisions, but the real deliverable is simply the smooth, natural-sounding audio.
