I run a small US web design firm, I have decided to no longer use my old programmer who worked on a contract basis. So I need to outsource a firm to do this project, offshore firms are fine, though you must be able to speak good english. There is the possibility of future work too.
I will need a confidentiality/non-compete clause signed and faxed back, specifying this particular company which we are building the site for only. Once signed it will simply mean that you cannot work for this small furniture company in the future or disclose any information.
This project involves ASP coding and building an online catalog, it will have pricing on SOME items, however it is NOT e-commerce.
Set up MySql Databases on GoDaddy account, with fields (for example): Item Name, thumbnail image name, item Number, Price, Thumbnail Description, Main Category, Subcategory and whatever else you need to do. (you will receive this information in Excel Format).
You will need to construct the catalog item pages for each of the 46 subcategories, which will have 12 thumbnails per page (I have built a sample page for you to go by, which you may be able to use for layout), there will be a total of 1100 (maximum) items throughout the 46 subcategories.
There will be 9 MAIN categories with 46 subcategories and 1100 items displayed at 12 thumbnails per page; all thumbnail pages will need to pull the text info: Item Name, Item Number, Price, Thumbnail Description, Main Category, Subcategory, from the database and place in the correct subcategory pages. When a person clicks on a thumbnail it will go to a new page (again using my ASP header and footer) displaying a medium size image (pulling from database) and Large Description (pulling from database). Then you will be able to click the Medium image (and link) to open up a new window with the large image only 800X800, pulling route to image from database. I want all images stored in folders on the server, the database will only contain routes to the images.
Here is an example, it will be very similar to this, remember the site will be built up to this point, the header and footer are done just like this site: [url removed, login to view] Now when you click on the thumbnail a new page opens up with the medium image, price, item number, item description and "view larger" link, that is all I will need on that page; do not need any of their other options.
I want this set up dynamically so that I can update the database with lets say twice as many items and it will create those new pages automatically. Or if I cut down to 500 items it will not display any previous extra pages. You need to code this so that all I have to do is change the database info to update the catalog items that are displayed.
Well I hope to find an honest, firm that has experience in ASP integration with MySql and I look forward to working with you.
