When writers review a subject, they demonstrate an insider’s knowledge of it through an informative, well-supported evaluation that makes use of an authoritative tone.
Your task is to compose a review that provides compelling evidence in support of a clear judgment you have made on your chosen subject. There should be identifiable criteria for your review to which your audience can relate.
You may quote, paraphrase or summarize from your source material to add to your evidence. Supporting research from 4-6 secondary sources must be integrated into your review and cited MLA style to avoid plagiarism. You will include a Works Cited as your essay’s final page. One or two visuals must be incorporated into your review; they should be labeled, captioned, and referenced in text as support for a couple of your points.
This formal review must be written in third person point of view. Your audience for the review is an explicit one with a neutral orientation. Length: 4.5-5 pages or 1,250-1,500 words.
