read the instructions clearly ( this project due on Monday night which is between 24- 30 hours from now )
First you have to read play A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry ( you can find it online )
After reading the play, you should begin working on your essay on the prompt below.
• Read Langston Hughes’s poem “Harlem” (p. 1224 in your Bedford textbook) (( this page on the attachment )) , from which the title of the play is taken, and write an essay describing why you think Hansberry found the line appropriate as the title for her play. In your analysis explain what the “dream deferred” refers to and how it can also relate to the family in Hansberry’s play. It might be useful to connect certain lines of the poem to specific characters from the play to better draw your connections in your analysis.
You should write a short essay of 2-3 pages responding to the prompt. Your paper should include an introduction paragraph, at least 2-3 body paragraphs, and a conclusion paragraph. Paragraphs should contain a minimum of five sentences each, but you’ll likely need more than that to create a thorough analysis. Use direct quotes from the play and poem as support for your analysis. You should NOT use material from any other sources for this paper. You will be expected to format your quotes correctly in the body of your essay but you do NOT need to include a Works Cited page for this paper.
Type your paper using 12 pt. Times New Roman font and double-space the lines.
