Hi, I’d love to create this as a small impressionistic landscape with the Douglas firs providing the main vertical structure, while the meadow and iris flowers add softer colour and movement in the foreground. For this size, I’d recommend watercolor because it can keep the scene luminous, atmospheric, and expressive without making the details feel too heavy. I’d focus on loose but controlled brushwork, natural layering of greens, soft meadow tones, and distinct iris accents so the painting still feels lively and dimensional at under 12 x 12 inches.
