Infrared sensor arduino project

I need a simple code.
project components:
1-Infrared sensor
2-Leonardo arduino board
3-pc
when no object is in front of the sensor call it: ideal distance
i want the code as follow:
-as long as no object is detected, do nothing
-if detected distance is less than < ideal distance, send keyboard button "P" to pc
keep measuring the distance, as long as detected distance is less than < ideal distance do nothing.
-but when detected distance more than or equal => ideal distance, send keyboard button "s" to pc.
and so on
