I can show u sample. - Questions: 1) Which Virginia county/jurisdiction and site constraints apply (recent survey/topo, setbacks, Chesapeake Bay/floodplain, soils/borings, utilities: well/septic vs public)? Target footprint, height limits, and preferred foundation (slab/FPSF, conditioned crawl, or basement)? 2) Program: target SF and adjacencies; loft/mezzanine within the vault; fireplace/chimney; porch sizes; storage needs; exterior palette; performance goals (code-min vs high-efficiency), HVAC preferences, and budget/timeline? - Suggestions: 1) For a true vaulted great room with old-world character, use a structural ridge (glulam/LVL) sized to local ground-snow and wind; choose either an unvented conditioned roof (ccSPF + batt) or a vented assembly with baffles, both with a continuous air/vapor control layer Add a ventilated rainscreen and modest exterior insulation so limewash brick/stone/timber accents dry properly 2) Expedite permit approval with a complete VUSBC/IRC/IECC package: architectural, structural calcs/truss engineering, REScheck, Manual J/S/D, MEP/lighting, and site/grading/drainage Kindly send me a message, lets discuss in detail and my portfolio is uploaded here and on my website.
