Project: Enhance Google AppSheet Order Entry App to Support Multi-Item Orders & CSV Export Background We currently have a Google AppSheet app developed for customer order entry. The app has a master order entry form that pulls customer data from our database and filters options as the user types. Right now, however, the app only supports one item per order. We need to restructure it so each order can have multiple items, each with its own unique fields, and then export the data in a CSV format that we can import into our SQL database. Requirements 1. Parent / Child Table Setup Convert current single “Orders” table into two related tables: Orders (parent): OrderID, Customer info, Order Date, Ship To, PO#, etc. Order Items (child): Item#, Description 1, Description 2, Qty Ship, Unit Price, Pull Card Remark. Link tables with a Ref column (OrderID) and enable IsPartOf = TRUE so items can be added inline within the order form. Ensure one order can contain multiple items. 2. Form Behavior User enters all order-level details once. User can then add multiple order items within the same form (inline child table). Each item must allow entry of its own fields: Item#, Description 1, Description 2, Qty Ship, Unit Price, Pull Card Remark. Support auto-fill or validation rules (e.g., Item# lookup populates Descriptions). 3. Export Functionality Provide a way to export orders to CSV in a line-item format suitable for SQL import. Each row in the CSV = one order item. Order-level fields (OrderID, Customer, Date, etc.) must repeat on each row. Deliver at least one of the following: Manual option: an action/button that exports the selected order to CSV. Automation option (preferred): automatically generate CSV file when an order is saved. 4. Data Integrity Ensure required fields (Qty Ship, Unit Price, etc.) are validated. Use correct data types (Numbers, Text, Dates) so exported CSV is import-ready. Optional: Add LineNo column to child items for sequence control. Deliverables Updated AppSheet app with working parent-child order structure. Functional order entry form that allows multiple items per order. Working CSV export (manual action or automation) that produces properly structured, SQL-ready files. Documentation or a short walkthrough explaining: How the parent/child setup works How to run or configure the export Any formulas, slices, or automations used Skills Required Strong experience with Google AppSheet (parent/child relationships, forms, slices, actions, automations). Understanding of database normalization (one-to-many relationships). Ability to design export workflows in AppSheet (CSV, templates, bots). Good communication to ensure deliverables align with our SQL import requirements. Notes The app currently pulls from Google Sheets. The export will need to be a CSV file that we can import directly into SQL. Looking for a clean, professional setup that is easy for our staff to use without technical knowledge.
