I need a desktop-based tool that can speak the native, proprietary languages of three different DCS families—ABB 800xA, ABB AC450 and Mitsubishi DIASYS Netmation—and then use those links to send remote-control commands. The scope centres on building (or integrating) protocol drivers for each system, proving that they can log on, browse the tag database, write set-points and issue start/stop or mode-change commands exactly as an operator console would. Once the drivers are stable, they have to be wrapped in a single Windows desktop application with a clean UI where I can select the target DCS, pick a tag, send a command and view a confirmation/echo. Acceptance is straightforward: if the test script can alter a value or state on each DCS and the change is visible on the native HMI, we are done. Experience with ABB and Mitsubishi SDKs or reverse-engineering their protocol frames will be a strong plus, but I am open to any approach that meets the above criteria. Only candidates with experience in communicating with and extracting information from SCADA screens in any of the three systems should apply. The project will involve developing reverse-engineering tools for one of the plants that our team can reuse at other similar plants. In other words, the work consists of extracting the information so that our team can learn to use the tools to replicate the process. When you apply for this project, please explain in detail your proven experience with these systems to ensure the success of the project.

Your biggest risk is reliable control, not just connecting to each DCS. The first thing I'd verify is how each system exposes communication, whether through an available SDK or a protocol that needs to be understood from captured traffic. From there I'd focus on proving the critical path first: authenticate, browse tags, write a value, issue a command, and confirm the change is reflected on the native HMI before building out the desktop application around it. That keeps the integration honest and avoids UI work hiding protocol issues. The Windows application can then provide a single interface regardless of the target DCS, with consistent command handling and confirmation of every action. One detail I'd want to clarify first: do you already have access to the ABB/Mitsubishi SDKs and a test environment, or should the solution assume protocol analysis will be required for one or more systems?

You're building ABB 800xA, ABB AC450 and Mitsubishi DIASYS Netmation DCS Remote Control, where the real delivery risk is usually in the workflow details, not just the feature list. I have handled similar systems where the important part was turning a broad brief into a reliable working version. My approach would be to first isolate the highest-risk workflow in the brief, then deliver a small working milestone that proves the architecture before expanding the rest. For this project, I would focus especially on: - core workflow risks and acceptance criteria - integration points and edge cases - milestone planning and handover clarity If helpful, I can outline the first milestone around the riskiest part of the build before we start. The part that usually breaks on jobs like this is getting the protocol drivers to connect and stay connected, so the approach centers on building those first and testing them rigorously. I will use Python to build the drivers for ABB 800xA and AC450, also for Mitsubishi DIASYS Netmation, testing each connection, tag browsing, and command execution against the native HMIs. The desktop application will be a C# Windows Forms application, using the Python drivers via inter-process communication, allowing selection of the DCS, tag, sending commands, and viewing confirmations. What usually goes wrong is the proprietary communication protocols tripping over themselves, especially when handling authentication and data framing, so I build error handling directly into the driver logic, so it recovers gracefully rather than crashing. My track record on here is 100% on time, 100% on budget, 5.0 across 8 reviews. Does the ABB AC450 driver need to support OPC UA for communication or direct native protocol access? I need access to the specific vendor documentation for the ABB AC450 protocol if direct native protocol is required.

Hi! This is a fascinating integration challenge. The goal of unifying control for ABB 800xA, AC450, and Mitsubishi DIASYS Netmation through a single interface, while also creating reusable reverse-engineering tools for your team, is a solid brief. To clarify the path forward: do you have any existing SDKs, protocol documentation, or network traffic captures (PCAP files) from the existing operator consoles? Is there a test environment available for remote access, or would this require on-site work? My approach is grounded in structured protocol reverse engineering. I'd use network analysis tools to capture and decode the frames for basic operations on one system, then build a modular C#/.NET driver. This process is then repeated for the other two. I have experience with this exact workflow, having previously reverse-engineered a proprietary protocol for a legacy logistics system to enable a modern REST API interface. The final deliverable would be a Windows desktop app wrapping these drivers, with the source code well-documented so your team can replicate the process. The core challenge is the protocol decoding, but it's a methodical process. Delivering the reusable toolkit alongside the application is the key value here, and my focus would be on making that process clear and repeatable for your team. Philip and The SKIIE Team

Bridging ABB 800xA, ABB AC450 and Mitsubishi DIASYS Netmation under one Windows client means three separate protocol stacks feeding a single command layer — that's the real engineering core here, more than the UI. - 800xA: I'd start with OPC UA/DA if exposed on the system server, falling back to direct AC 800M controller communication otherwise — is OPC already enabled on your plant, or do we need controller-level access? - AC450 and DIASYS Netmation predate standard OPC servers, so both likely need frame-level reverse engineering of their logon, browse and write sequences; existing traffic captures or SDK docs would shorten this phase considerably. - All three drivers wrap into one C#/.NET desktop client: DCS selector, tag browser, command/set-point entry, and an echo/confirmation panel logging every action against the native HMI. I work regularly with industrial protocol integration, distributed control systems and reverse-engineering of proprietary frame formats; happy to share relevant portfolio items from my Freelancer profile. Delivery in exactly 30 days from kickoff. Treat this figure as an initial, orientative reference for the scope as described, not a final price — we'll confirm it once we clarify which access points (OPC, SDK or raw protocol) are actually available on each system. Let's set up a quick call here on Freelancer to go through these open points before locking the plan.

Hi there, I've worked hands-on with all three of these systems. I've reverse-engineered ABB AC450's S100 protocol for tag reads and set-point writes, built OPC/API links into 800xA, and extracted Netmation tag databases for diagnostics. I won't just copy an SDK example—I'll get you native command frames you can reuse at other plants. What I'll do: ✅ Build C# protocol drivers for each DCS (logon, tag browse, set-point write, start/stop/mode commands) using a common tag abstraction layer. ✅ Create the Windows desktop UI to select target DCS, browse tags, send commands, and display echo/confirmation from the native HMI. ✅ Test everything against your live or lab systems first—I'll stage rollouts per DCS so we never disrupt plant operations before validation. My skills here: ✅ DCS protocol reverse engineering (AC450 S100, 800xA OPC/API, Netmation memory maps) ✅ C# / .NET desktop apps + tag database modeling ✅ SCADA/HMI integration and test-harness design ✅ Distributed systems + industrial networking ✅ Microsoft® Certified: MCSA | MCSE | MCT ✅ 300+ projects delivered, 280+ five-star reviews Why me: I'm available around the clock to align with your plant schedules and will keep iterating until acceptance criteria are met. One quick question: do you have a safe sandbox or offline simulator for each DCS available, or will testing happen on a live system with scheduled windows? I can get this done in 7 days for €5502 and can start immediately.

Hi, I understand this project is not simply about building a Windows application. The real challenge is establishing reliable communication with multiple legacy DCS platforms, validating read/write operations safely, and providing a unified interface that operators can use consistently across different control systems. I have experience developing industrial software, desktop applications, protocol integrations, automation systems, C#, Python, and backend services. My approach would be to begin with a technical assessment of the available interfaces for ABB 800xA, ABB AC450, and Mitsubishi DIASYS Netmation, prioritizing supported SDKs, OPC, or documented communication mechanisms before considering any lower-level protocol work. From there, I would build modular drivers, a common abstraction layer, secure authentication, comprehensive logging, and a Windows desktop application that allows selecting a target system, browsing available tags, issuing commands, and viewing acknowledgements. The implementation would be delivered in phases with driver validation, communication testing, UI integration, and documentation so your team can maintain and extend the solution over time. I am comfortable working under an NDA and collaborating closely throughout the development process.

Hi, I understand this project requires deep DCS communication knowledge, not just building a UI. The main challenge is establishing reliable communication with ABB 800xA, ABB AC450, and Mitsubishi DIASYS Netmation systems while ensuring commands, tag browsing, and state changes behave exactly like an operator console. My approach would be to first analyze the available communication methods (official SDKs, interfaces, or protocol structures), build and validate each driver independently, then integrate them into a Windows desktop application with a clear operator-style workflow. I’ll focus on reliable authentication, tag discovery, read/write operations, command execution, logging, and confirmation feedback. I would also document the communication process, tools, and architecture so your team can reuse and extend the solution for future plants. Best Regards, Fizza

Hi, your project is about more than control commands , you need a Windows desktop tool that can reliably speak to ABB 800xA, ABB AC450, and Mitsubishi DIASYS Netmation, then prove write access against the native HMI. I’ve worked on industrial integration and protocol-level tooling where stability, tag browsing, and safe command execution mattered most. I can build or integrate the drivers, validate login and read/write behavior, and wrap everything in a clean desktop UI for selecting the DCS, choosing tags, and confirming results. My approach is to start with one system, capture and verify the communication flow, then reuse the proven pattern across the others. I focus on traceable testing, careful handling of operator actions, and clear confirmation feedback so you can trust the results. If you’d like, I can outline the implementation plan and test sequence for each DCS. Best regards, Gabriel

You’re looking for a Windows desktop control tool that can translate and execute remote commands across ABB 800xA, ABB AC450, and Mitsubishi DIASYS Netmation by building/integrating protocol drivers, browsing tag databases, writing set-points, and validating confirmations exactly like an operator console. I will structure the work around a reusable driver layer per DCS family (connection/auth, tag discovery, read/write, command/mode transitions) and a single UI layer that lets you select the target system, choose tags, send commands, and display echoed/confirmed results. For stability and repeatability, I’ll include automated test scripts that (1) log in, (2) enumerate/select tags, (3) write a deterministic value, (4) verify the new value is reflected on the native HMI/state, and (5) perform start/stop or mode-change with confirmation checks. The output will include capture/trace artifacts and reverse-engineering notes so your team can reuse the extraction workflow on similar plants. I’m comfortable working with proprietary automation stacks and producing practical, validated integrations rather than theoretical protocol descriptions.
