Highway safety is a long burning challenging issue to the road safety engineers and highway system managers. In most cases, success depends on the effective treatment of the problems encountered from the deficiencies in the design and control of roadway infrastructures. Investigation of the cause of accidents is the starting point of improving the road safety situation, and the appropriate treatment is mostly influenced by the existing design considerations, characteristics of traffic flow and control, and the environmental parameters like weather. Though the electronic information is available for the causes of accidents, safety engineers are usually helpless in generating the yearly reports as well as taking measures to reduce the roadway accidents as it involves tons of information to follow. Safety engineers frequently need to construct the collision diagram, which graphically shows the detailed collision characteristics for all of the accidents. These tasks are extremely frustrating to safety engineers, and they are desperately looking for some way to automate the whole system. To make this situation better, it might be a good option to develop a graphical tool that automates the time-consuming data manipulation and graphical design work. Based on the advance programming features of the database and the computer graphics, this research is being proposed to develop an object-oriented and event-driven programming paradigm that eventually can handle data acquisition, analysis, and presentation facilities with a reasonable amount of graphical user interfaces. In short, the general goal of this tool will be to automate the data visualization, analysis, and integration processes. we need network interface to comunicate central database.
