I will build the animation sequence using Maya, setting up proper rigging and then animating key poses for the body movement and the friendly waving gesture, so that the core actions are solid. Facial expressions will be keyframed on the character's face rig directly, and I will also add subtle secondary animation to the character's clothing and hair to give it life. I will not be using AI to generate facial expressions or basic body movement. That is a crutch, and it will not hold the character's integrity through the shot.
