I’m looking to create an app to set up and organize Bible Quiz competitions.
The app would have several components/stages:
League Setup - the league coordinator would enter information for each team including team name and division, church name, coach’s name and contact info, and up to 8 names of quizzers.
Meet Setup - after entering all the team info, a meet can be set up. Date and location of the meet and the number of rounds will be entered and teams will be selected from the initial inputs in order to create a schedule of matchups between the teams in a round robin competition.
Enter a quiz room - based on the round robin schedule that was created, quiz officials can now enter one of multiple rooms for the meet in order to keep score for the Bible quiz competition. Some sort of passcode would be needed to make sure only authorized users can enter a room for a particular meet. Upon entrance to the quiz room, the scorekeeper will begin to setup the match. They’ll select one of the two teams to be green and select up to 4 quizzers (from up to 8 initially entered in the league setup stage) to start the match for the team. The remaining team will be set to red and up to 4 quizzers will be selected to start the match.
A regular match consists of 20 questions valued at either 10, 20, or 30 points. Question number will be displayed at the top followed by buttons to choose the point value.
Below that, the teams will each be setup in their own column taking up half the screen. Under each team (red and green) there should be a place to keep track of timeouts taken (3 per match), judges rulings requested (2 per match) fouls given, a button to choose which of the 4 current quizzers buzzed in for that question, a substitute button to swap quizzers and a running tally of the team’s score. There should also be a button to initiate a 5 second timer.
Based on selections, positive or negative scores will be recorded for each quizzer based on correct or incorrect answers and team and match results will be calculated. A built in 30 second timer feature for quizzer responses, timeouts, and judges rulings, whether a question was answered correctly or incorrectly, and options for repeating questions will be a part of the progression for each round. At the end of each round, the scorekeeper will be able to see all the results before moving to the next round to start again.
Meet results - all individual and team results should be accessible in a report showing (1) quizzers individual scores for one and/or multiple meets within a league and (2) win/loss records for each team for one and/or multiple meets.
Sharing options should be available for all reports.
