Secure Lock App - The idea behind this app is to restrict access to visitors of a persons phone. The restrictions are put in place by the phone owner. By enabling the app the phone owner is able to create usage profiles based on the specific type of visitor to the phone (E.g Child, Teenager, Spouse etc.) In these profiles the phone owner can choose the enable / disable whole genres (E.g Banking, Social Networking, Settings, Phone, Messages, Mail, Games etc.) or specific application themselves. Even though these apps restricted after the profiles set the application can still be used by a passcode set by the phone owner.
Example 1 - You have disabled the “Phone” app, and you received an incoming call. to receive the call, once the call is finished it returns to previous application being used / enabled and the restrictions set by the phone owner remains active.
Example 2 - You have chosen an app for your child to play and they exit the app and try to enter “Mail” upon click they will receive a dialog box asking for the 4 digit pin to regain access to this app. If the wrong pin is applied twice they will return to previous application that was being used.
Being able to restrict access to apps via passcode
Being able to have different profiles for different users
If the user gets a phone call while the app is “enabled” then it still asks for passcode.
If the user pushes an application that is not allowed then it asks for a passcode, if the passcode is wrong TWICE it will then return to the home screen.
The phone owner needs to be able to easily disable the app by pressing the Secure Lock icon and entered the passcode set by him / her and then disable the app through an on off switch.
The App -
It must have a display like or coded to an “iPhone” settings theme. Where for example in bluetooth you have the toggle button at the very top which enables or disabled the app / profile. It must then show you a list of profiles that you have made, then by pressing directly on the name a drop down list appears with the current applications that have been enabled / disabled and can be modified through the use of a toggle switch.
There must be a button where you can “Add Profile”, you then name the profile. Which then creates a new “setting” where you can pick and choose which application to let this new profile enable / restrict.
It must have an “Settings” tab in the top left corner where you can then Change your passcode, Delete profiles, leave feedback or Report a Bug. It must then have a “Edit Profile” button on the top right.
On very first launch of the app it must ask you to set a passcode. It will then take you to the main screen which is explained above.
In the “Add Profile” button, when pushed this must take you to a screen that shows all apps installed on this device in alphabetical order, if possible also by genre the application is classed under (e.g Social Networking, Banking.) if possible you can restrict all application in a genre or specific applications within that genre through the use of toggle switch, where then you can choose to either keep this application unrestricted or restricted through a toggle switch. By default all applications are unrestricted. Once finished choosing which application to restrict in the top right corner there must be a “Save” button which then returns you to the main screen where the phone owner can choose to enable this profile or not.
