# Vehicle Photo App (Phase 1) ## Overview I require a simple cross-platform mobile app for internal use in a vehicle bodyshop. The purpose of the app is to organise vehicle photographs and upload them to our Synology NAS. This is **Phase 1** of a larger project, so I am looking for a developer who may also work on future phases. The priority is **simplicity, reliability and ease of use**. **Please note:** This specification describes my initial idea and workflow. If you believe there is a simpler, better or more cost-effective technical solution that achieves the same end result, I would welcome your recommendations. My priority is a reliable, easy-to-use solution rather than implementing my exact design. --- ## Platforms The app must work on: * Android * iPhone (iOS) --- ## Main Workflow 1. Start a new vehicle job. 2. Enter or scan the vehicle registration. 3. Take photographs or import existing photographs. 4. Keep all photographs together for that job. 5. Upload the completed job to our Synology NAS. --- ## Registration The app must allow: * Manual registration entry. * Scan a UK number plate using the phone camera (OCR). * Edit the registration if the scan is incorrect. * Create an "Unassigned" job if the registration is not yet known. * Change an Unassigned job to the correct registration later. --- ## Photographs The app must allow the user to: * Take multiple photographs. * Import existing photographs from the phone gallery. * Keep the original image quality. * Keep all photographs together within the same job. --- ## File Naming Each image should automatically be renamed. Example: `[login to view URL]` The filename should contain: * Registration (or `UNASSIGNED`) * Date * Time * Sequence number The timestamp format should be configurable. --- ## Upload When the job is complete, upload all images to a specified folder on our Synology NAS. The app should display whether the upload has: * Not started * Uploading * Completed * Failed If upload fails, the user should be allow the user to retry the upload. --- ## Simple Interface The app should be easy to use while walking around a vehicle. Suggested screens: * New Job * Current Jobs * Job Details Nothing more is required for Phase 1. --- ## Not Required in Phase 1 Please do **not** include the following at this stage: * Customer database * Estimates * Invoices * Reports * PDF generation * User accounts * Cloud services * Office software integration These will be considered in future phases. --- ## Future Work If Phase 1 is successful, I intend to continue developing the system with additional features, including integration with our office software. Please provide: * Fixed-price quotation * Estimated development time * Examples of similar work * Technology you recommend (Flutter preferred, but I am happy to consider other recommendations if they offer a better solution.)
