AWS Lambda Developer Needed for Integration

I am seeking an experienced AWS Lambda developer. My current project requires modifying an existing AWS Lambda function, The function is an integration between 2 systems. AWS lambda receive a webhook and process it to make an API request to our CRM. The problem Im facing is that sometimes it makes twice the API request. So I need to make a validation process to avoid this to happen. The webhook is only received once, but for some reason the lambda function is executed twice sometimes.
