Fix IG & FB algorithm targeting wrong Audience - Algorithm Retraining

We have been very successful with our Instagram and Facebook pages for years now. We have worked hard to perfect our content, reaching the perfect target audience and customer base. We frequently see our posts go viral, always with our target audience. PROBLEM: In mid March this suddenly changed with a single reel. The algorithm pushed one of our reels to go viral in overseas regions we do not do business with. Since this event, everything has changed. Meta keeps sharing our posts to random, overseas audiences we don’t ship to, and it’s hurting reach, engagement and sales. The algorithm is consistently pushing new content to these audiences, while hiding it from our niche audience and current followers. Even our searches and explore pages have been altered, displaying primarily overseas pages. We are getting spammed from fake and overseas accounts with new follows, messages and comments. In house, we have done everything we can to try to reverse this. Removing followers from overseas and fake accounts, deleting comments, blocking users. Changing settings such as minimum age of overseas IG users allowed to see our content, and restricting FB content to only be shown to countries we ship to. We have changed to algorithm settings letting it know specifically what we want and don't want to see. We have invested hours each week searching for niche accounts to engage with in order to re-teach the algorithm. Added US location to all posts, posted US specific content and changed hashtags, all in an effort to get back to where things were. Things have slightly improved but it's still a constant battle to correct the algorithm and reach a relevant audience. We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of how the Meta algorithm works and experience with this kind of issue, that can retrain it so our content lands back in front of relevant shoppers in North America, Europe, and Australia. Here’s what I need: • An audit of current followers, hashtags, look-alike and interest audiences to spot where things went off-track. • A step-by-step recovery plan to clean up and reset audience definitions as quickly as possible. • Hands-on execution inside our account for organic posts, with clear tracking so we can see the shift week by week. • A brief report (screenshots + key metrics) and results in 30 days showing improved reach and engagement from the regions that matter to us. ALSO. We are not interested in changing our entire content strategy. We know the content we have been sharing successfully up until this point still works with our customer base. Competitors are still sharing the same style content successfully and it's what our customers want to see. We are looking for someone to find where things went wrong behind the scenes with the algorithm and fix it, not change our entire content strategy. This is not a long term job. We intend to hire someone for this as a one time project and get things shifted back as fast as possible.
