Your acceptance criterion is "runs start to finish without manual intervention", and there is one thing that breaks that in every n8n content pipeline: generation is slow and asynchronous. A Shorts render takes minutes. If a node calls the video API and waits inline for the result, the execution times out, the run dies halfway, and you are left with an asset generated but never posted - or worse, posted twice on the retry. So generation is split: one workflow submits the job and stores the job id, a second resumes on the provider's webhook (or a polling check) and carries on to upload. Every step keyed on that id, so a re-run is a no-op rather than a duplicate post. Second, the licensing limit you asked about, and it is the one that bites: the YouTube Data API charges roughly 1600 quota units per upload against a default 10,000 per day. That is about six Shorts a day before uploads simply start failing, regardless of your plan with any AI tool. If your volume is higher we request a quota increase before building, not after. On the board question: your API keys stay yours, held in n8n credentials rather than pasted into nodes - which is also what keeps the vendor-lock-in point you raised honest, since swapping GPT for another model becomes a credential and one node. Self-hosted n8n so there are no execution caps. Both workflows documented step by step, aspect ratios enforced per platform, logs on every output. 2 days.
