you have described the job accurately in one phrase: moving between brand-level thinking and hands-on production. those pull in opposite directions, and how you resolve it decides whether the work stays coherent. the risk in ongoing design support is drift. a logo is made, then collateral is produced week by week, and eighteen months later nothing quite matches - three blues in circulation, four typefaces, spacing that changes per piece. it happens even with a good designer, because each individual request is answered on its own. so what i would build first, before any collateral, is the small set of rules that keeps the rest consistent: a type scale, defined colour roles rather than a palette of swatches, and a spacing unit. it takes very little time and it means every later asset is a decision about content rather than about style, which also makes each one faster and cheaper. for print and social specifically, they need different versions rather than the same file exported twice - print wants cmyk and bleed, social wants recomposition per format rather than resizing, because a square design does not become a banner by stretching. what is the business, and do you have an existing logo or is that part of this?
