We're a boutique India-based finance & accounting advisory firm that serves US and UK clients. We hire in sprints — every few months we bring in 1-3 accounting professionals across junior, senior, and team-lead levels. We've automated most of our hiring funnel: AI handles resume triage, an AI voice agent runs the first phone screen, and a dashboard ranks candidates and surfaces who to interview. What we need a human for is the last screening layer — the candidates the AI couldn't reach (no-answer, busy, dropped mid-call) and the technical assessment that comes before the founder interview. Scope per sprint (roughly): Make 30-50 outbound calls to candidates we provide (pre-formatted list with name, phone, resume context, what to ask). Calls run 5-10 minutes each. Administer a structured technical assessment over a video call with candidates who pass the phone screen (~10-15 per sprint). We'll provide the question set and rubric — your job is to ask, listen, and capture answers; the founder makes the final call. Each assessment runs 1-1.5 hours. Document responses in a shared Google Sheet with a clean Yes/Maybe/No flag per candidate, plus comp/notice/availability data. Engagement structure: This is genuinely sprint-based work — bursts of activity (1-2 weeks at a time) with weeks or months of zero work between sprints. We're looking for one person we can come back to repeatedly, not someone we have to re-find each cycle. First sprint runs in right now, ~50-60 candidates to call across three role levels. Hours: Part-time during active sprints What you'll bring: Comfortable, confident on the phone — these are candidates evaluating us as much as we're evaluating them, so the conversation has to feel natural, not interrogative. Working familiarity with accounting and finance terminology — enough to follow when a candidate describes US GAAP, IFRS, GST, bookkeeping in QuickBooks/Xero/Tally, or AP/AR work. You don't need to be an accountant; you need to be able to tell when an answer is substantive vs hand-wavy. Structured documentation habits — every call needs notes in a consistent format we'll share. Sloppy notes break our process. Reliable weekend and evening availability in IST (some calls go to working candidates and need to happen after work hours or on weekends). Comfortable working independently with async written briefings from us; we're not going to be on the call with you. Ideal background (any one of these): Prior recruitment coordinator or talent acquisition experience, ideally in finance/accounting roles Ex-KPO or accounting BPO background looking for flexible remote work HR generalist with finance domain familiarity CA-inter or [login to view URL] graduate with strong communication skills and recruiting interest To apply: Send a short note covering (1) your background and why this work suits you, (2) confirmation that you're comfortable with the part-time/sprint-based structure, (3) your hourly rate, and (4) one example of when you successfully assessed someone's actual skill level on a phone call (any role, any context). Skip generic cover letters — I'll read the specific ones first.
