Experienced finance director (free equity) needed to assist in valuing companies and negotiations

The opportunity

Arena Health Group is a new investment group looking to acquire care homes across the UK and is looking for an experienced, preferably retired former top 4 accountant with M&A experience, to form part of our founding board of directors.

The need for quality social care in the UK is increasing with the elderly population (over 60) set to represent 18% of the nation by 2030. This represents an opportunity for dedicated care providers to fill an important and increasing need and Arena Health Group aims to serve this need over the coming decade.

Finance will be raised between a mix of commercial lenders, vendor finance and private investors and the target region will be the South East of England. Our first phase of growth will involve us gaining a foothold in the market through acquisitions and then to improve the operations over time.

The role

The role will consist of you assisting in valuing existing care home providers based on their accounts and helping in forming fair offers through creative deal structures such as deferred payments and earnouts. Upon closing, you will be responsible for overseeing the group's accounts and handling any financial issues.

The time commitment for the role will be no more than 2-4 hours per week and will be more time intensive during this first phase as we prepare ourselves for our first acquisition.

The compensation

You will be given free founders equity and will not be required at any stage to part with any of your capital. You will not be paid an hourly or project rate but will be paid in closing bonuses upon completion of transactions and profit distributions throughout the year. This can increase as more transactions are completed and more value is added to the businesses. All we ask of you is your time, experience and expertise in assisting us in our acquisition and accounting processes.
