Source documents come in mixed formats: scanned PDFs, emailed statements, Excel exports, and photos of paper receipts. You’ll key each transaction with its date, vendor or customer, amount, tax category, and a brief memo. Accuracy is essential, and I’d like a sheet that reconciles to the penny with the originals so my accountant can import it without adjustments.
