I'm working on a startup in the localization / education industry. We are incorporated in Canada, federal level.
I would like to hire someone to act as an on-demand bookkeeper and help with the accounting stuff. There are not many transactions happening right now, mostly paying people on freelancer.com :)
Does the incorporation in Canada matter? Do you think you need to know something special in order to do this job? Let me know in your application.
Also, what software do you suggest to use and why?
General qualities I'm looking for in anyone:
- accountability. Your word needs to matter. If you propose a deadline for delivery, either deliver on time or let me know before if you can't make it.
- systematic. I'm going to give you a TON of feedback. You have to be able to go through every single comment and either fix it or reply. If you're reading this, include the word 'bish' in your application. If I tell you 24 things to change, and you process only 22 of them, it's not going to work long-term.
- you have a good amount of demonstrable experience
- you're willing to learn, always.
Final question - if I have multiple decent candidates like you, how would you propose I make the decision?
