My internal drive is filling up fast, so I want every audio plugin currently on my Mac moved to an external SSD. Once copied across, please arrange them into clearly named folders by format—VST, AU and AAX—so future updates stay tidy. Here’s the flow I have in mind: first, identify every installed audio-plugin location on the system library and my user library; then copy each file set (binaries, presets, support data) to the SSD without breaking authorisations or losing component paths. After transfer, create alias links or symbolic links back to the original directories so Logic Pro, Ableton Live and Pro Tools still see them as before. Finally, verify that a test session in each DAW opens with no missing plugin warnings. Deliverables • External SSD containing all plugins, sorted into “VST”, “AU” and “AAX” folders • Working symlinks/aliases on the Mac pointing to the new locations • A brief text log of what was moved and the verification results If you use utilities such as Carbon Copy Cloner, rsync, or Terminal commands, please include the exact commands or settings so I can repeat the process later.
