I am running a full structural review of a steel helical gearbox and need reliable stress and fatigue data for every load-carrying part. The study must cover gears, shafts and the housing, quantify static and cyclic safety factors, and finish with a bearing choice that meets the calculated life requirements. Scope • Build or clean up the finite-element model from the CAD I will supply (STEP and native SolidWorks files). • Apply the duty cycle I provide and run static, dynamic and fatigue simulations. • Extract von Mises stresses, deflections, contact pressures, and identify critical locations. • Estimate gear tooth life using AGMA or ISO methodology and correlate with the FEA results. • Size and select suitable bearings, documenting L10 life, fit and lubrication notes. Deliverables 1. Editable FEA model (ANSYS, Abaqus or SolidWorks Simulation). 2. PDF report with methodology, assumptions, mesh screenshots, plots, fatigue calculations and bearing selection rationale. 3. Spreadsheet of key results and safety factors. 4. Short call or written hand-over clarifying any open points. Acceptance Criteria • Peak stresses and fatigue factors of safety are clearly listed for gears, shafts and housing. • Bearing life meets or exceeds the duty cycle with a minimum service factor of 1.5. • All assumptions, material properties (steel grade), boundary conditions and loads are transparent and traceable.
