So, I have a problem. My application sets up a reminder using AlarmManager. This alarm is supposed to work even if my app is not alive. However, this does not work as claimed by the documentation. Specifically, if I kill the app by swiping from the recents screen, or if I reclaim memory, then my app gets killed and my BroadcastReceiver is not Called.
I searched on StackOverflow and other people also have the same problem, but I did not see any solutions.
I dont want to use the Clock API because it seems that was made public only in Android 21.
I have tried setting the "showInRecents" flag in the manifest to false. This hides the app from the recents screen, but the app still gets killed when I reclaim memory.
