I have an existing component that will be produced by die casting, and I need a seasoned engineer to take it from a “good-enough” 3D file to a production-ready design. Your first task is to prepare and clean the current CAD geometry in AutoCAD, eliminating any issues that could complicate the tooling or filling stages. From there, I want you to run a full die-casting simulation—filling, solidification, and thermal cycles—to expose hot spots, air entrapment, or misruns. The ultimate goal is to enhance manufacturability, so every change you propose should shorten cycle time, reduce scrap, or simplify the mold. Thin-wall tweaks, draft adjustments, gating and overflow suggestions, or rib relocations are all on the table as long as they keep the part’s functional surfaces intact. Deliverables: - Updated AutoCAD model (.dwg / .step) reflecting all accepted modifications - Simulation report with visuals, key parameters, and concise recommendations - One brief hand-off call or annotated PDF that explains the rationale behind each change I will provide the current CAD file and nominal casting specs as soon as we start.
