Hi Bredin C., I recently completed a very similar project. I can show u sample. Questions: 1) What nozzle and line-width will you use on the Bambu for PETG (e.g., 0.4 mm/0.42 mm)? Target shell thickness/perimeters (e.g., 1.68 mm = 4 perimeters) and max allowed exterior deviation from the scan (≤0.05–0.1 mm)? 2) Are drain/vent holes acceptable? If yes, preferred locations/diameters and whether you want matching press-fit caps. Also, confirm the intended base plane and how much flattening/chamfer is acceptable to ensure stable seating. Suggestions: 1) I’ll hollow using SDF offsetting to create a uniform-thickness inner shell while hard-constraining exterior vertices to preserve all captured details. Then perform feature-aware adaptive remeshing (target edge 0.6–1.2 mm), resolve self-intersections, unify normals, close micro-gaps, and validate manifoldness for watertight slicing. 2) For PETG on Bambu, set shell to exact multiples of line width (e.g., 1.68 or 2.1 mm), add 2–3 mm vent holes at hidden low/high points to prevent suction and aid drying, plane-cut the base and add a 0.3 mm underside relief chamfer to mitigate elephant’s foot.
