I’m turning a concept for a reusable butterfly-emergence habitat into a manufacturable product that Cricut Maker owners can cut at home. My highest priority is the structural engineering of the keepsake box so it survives repeated cleanings and looks premium on a shelf once the butterfly has flown. Core build requirements • 2 mm chipboard as the load-bearing substrate • Decorative cardstock overlays that hide all raw edges and seams • Hinged lid finished with a butterfly-shaped clasp • Large removable acetate viewing window • Hidden mesh panels for constant airflow • Internal emergence perch plus a removable tray for easy cleaning and re-use • Provision for optional low-voltage LED strip so users can add adjustable lighting without redesigning the shell Deliverables I need to walk straight into production 1. Master Adobe Illustrator file with well-layered artwork 2. Clean, production-ready SVG and DXF sets optimized for Cricut Maker (2 mm chipboard and cardstock passes separated) 3. Assembly guide with exploded views, step-by-step photos, and callouts for glue tabs, hinge alignment, and ventilation placement 4. Complete bill of materials including SKU-level sourcing notes for chipboard, acetate, mesh, clasp, magnets/hinges, and optional LEDs 5. One fully assembled physical prototype demonstrating flush joints, tight tolerances, and the removable elements in action All intellectual property—including artwork, CAD geometry, and documentation—will be transferred to me so I can manufacture kits, sell the SVG package, and license the design commercially. If you have a background in small-format packaging, pop-up structures, or laser/CNC cut papercraft, I’d love to see how you’d approach reinforcing the chipboard while keeping seams invisible and airflow unobtrusive.
