Hello, Editing an existing character model without breaking its topology or existing UVs takes a careful pass before any texture or component change happens, since adjustments on top of someone else's mesh can easily introduce shading errors if the base geometry isn't checked first. I have taken over character models built by other artists before, adjusting textures and swapping components while keeping the original rig and proportions intact. I work in Blender, starting with a clean review of the mesh and UV layout so texture edits sit correctly without stretching or seams showing. I rebuild or adjust shaders as needed to match the new textures, and handle any added or removed components by keeping topology clean so the model still deforms properly if it gets rigged or animated later.
