PCB Design and Layout is a specialized engineering practice that involves designing and developing printed circuit boards (PCBs) for use in electronic devices. By working closely with an Electrical Design Engineer, a client can utilize their expertise to create an efficient, reliable, cost-effective design for their PCBs.
In order to design and manufacture a high-quality PCB, it must be designed in accordance with the electronic application specifications: design rules and constraints imposed by the board material and its components. An Electrical Design Engineer can work closely with clients to ensure that all of these requirements are met in the final design of the board.
The layout stage comes after schematic capture has been completed. At this point, the Electrical Design Engineer has the responsibility to arrange the components of the schematic on the board. Appropriate spacing of components, proper routing of traces and a good grounding system must all be taken into consideration when laying out the board. When done correctly, this ensures that the board will operate properly as expected.

What we now need is an experienced electrical engineer who can transform this proof-of-concept into a reliable, production-ready solution. The immediate scope covers circuit design, PCB layout and the complete wiring/connection strategy. You will take the rough sketches and functional breadboard, validate every signal path, size protective components, place and route the board, and specify harnesses, connectors and test points so that assembly on our factory floor in Bayswater, Victoria is straightforward and repeatable. Because we plan to manufacture at scale, I ne...
I’m looking for an engineer or a small team to deliver a working prototype of the electronics for a automated shutter project. The system runs on 24V DC and drives two brushed DC motors (each actuator delivers roughly 50 Nm at the output shaft through mechanical gearing). The electronics will sit inside the actuator housing, and I want Wi-Fi connectivity with Home Assistant integration (preferably ESPHome, MQTT is also fine). My preference is one ESP32 controlling both motors, with encoders (A/B) on each output shaft. I will not use limit switches, so the design should include reliable end-position handling without them: travel learning/calibration, position tracking via encoders, and safe stopping based on current sensing and/or “PWM commanded but encoder not moving” l...
Description We're developing a battery-powered consumer audio device that plays pre-loaded audio recordings on a daily schedule (three fixed times per day). Audio quality is the #1 technical priority — every design decision (DAC selection, power delivery, speaker driving, trace routing) should prioritize clean, warm, rich audio reproduction. This is Phase 1 — electronics design only. Enclosure design is a separate engagement. Your deliverables are digital design files. We handle fabrication and assembly separately via JLCPCB, so your designs must be production-ready and JLCPCB-optimized. No enclosure work — that's a separate Phase 2 engagement. Device Functionality Plays a 2–3 minute audio recording at three scheduled times daily 3 toggle switches to en...
I want a Raspberry Pi HAT that accepts a single USB-C PD input and breaks it out into three or four downstream USB-C ports that carry both power and data. Each of the three outputs should be able to negotiate its own Power Delivery profile while maintaining a reliable high-speed data link to the Pi (think USB 3 where practical, at least USB 2 if trace lengths make higher speeds unfeasible). Physical limits are the standard HAT outline, with decent thermal relief so the board can handle a fully-loaded 100W input without throttling. I am open to component choices. The outputs range from 20V to 5V. The Pi should get power from the HAT on the I/O pins. Power over Ethernet as a power input would be great but it is not mandatory. If you can tuck in an PoE++ (60W, or even bt for 90W if poss...
I’ve completed the physical shell for a phone case with a built-in drawer. I now need a freelancer to design and prototype the **electronics + firmware** that detects drawer activity and reliably sends events to the phone/app which I have already developed. (what I need built): * Recommend the best sensing approach to detect **drawer open/close** (magnetic reed/Hall, microswitch, optical, etc.) and design around the case constraints. * Select components and create a complete electronics design: * **Low-power microcontroller + BLE** (or comparable phone connectivity) * Sensor(s) for drawer state * Battery + charging solution (or wired power if strongly recommended) * LED indicator (subtle, optional but preferred) * Provide: * Schematic, BOM, and PCB layout (compact, manufacturable...
I need help with a circuit design for a small engine tachometer. Issues with noise and pulse ringing at the moment. If you have experience please let me know
I need a second set of expert eyes on my Front Panel Design files to be absolutely sure they will fit on my eurorack modules. The focus is purely mechanical: please review the panel for hole alignment with the standoffs and fasteners and ensure that the outline will drop cleanly into the 3U enclosure I’m using. Deliverables - Ideally a corrected file, but open to: • Annotated file(s) or drawing pack highlighting any mis-aligned mounting holes or enclosure clashes • A short written summary of required adjustments, if any, so the panel can be sent straight to fabrication I will supply the current design files as soon as we start. Feel free to work in the environment you prefer; the end goal is a confident “go” for both hole alignment for mounting and enc...

I new to design a PCB dedicated to processing several signals and starting a device based on a set number of conditions. I would like to be able to modify those parameters from a cloud based or simple web interface. The board should handles both analog and digital. I expect all to be digital signals but just in case. It should basically handle, temperature, humidity and time of day. Deliverables 1. Compiled firmware binaries plus full, buildable project files 2. Clear inline comments and a concise README explaining build steps and pin mappings 3. A short test report that documents signal-integrity measurements and confirms the module meets the agreed specs. 4, Plus device recommendation and also help on setting up. I have an idea, but I am a genetic engineer. I am OK with basi...
Multi-Arduino Industrial Control System Development (Isolated Communication + Analog + Digital I/O) Project Overview We are developing a modular measurement instrument based on multiple interconnected Arduino boards. Each Arduino handles a dedicated subsystem (UI, motor control, pH control, temperature control) coordinated by a Master Arduino. We require an experienced embedded systems freelancer to: • Design robust firmware architecture • Implement reliable inter-Arduino communication • Ensure electrical isolation to prevent analog noise/crosstalk • Optimize motor control, sensor acquisition, and closed-loop control • Deliver clean, documented, production-ready code • All components should be easily sourced in India This is not a beginner Arduino project &md...
PCB Technical Blog Writing Guidelines Each week I publish in-depth, EEAT-driven articles that demystify printed-circuit-board design and manufacturing for an audience of intermediate professionals. The primary goal is to educate—every post must read like it was penned by someone who has actually laid out boards, debugged traces, and wrestled with impedance calculations, not by a generic content mill. Scope of work You will draft original how-to guides that walk readers through real engineering challenges (e.g., stack-up selection, thermal relief strategies, DDR routing tips). Practical detail and accurate terminology are essential; surface-level summaries or re-hashed competitor pieces won’t be accepted. Quality standards • EEAT: demonstrate personal experience,...
