Zombie Apocalypse Scenes
- Status: Closed

Contest Brief
The contest is for the coolest illustrations of a scene that would be part of a zombie apocalypse story. It can be ANY scene. In fact, it doesn't even need to have zombies in it. It just needs to be a cool scene that can be part of a zombie apocalypse story.
Clarification #1: I am looking for SCENES... Not just cool artwork of zombies. This is as much about interesting SCENES as it is about the quality of the artwork.
Clarification #2: Stylized is good. I'm not looking for photo-realistic. I'm not sure on what style I am looking for, but just not photo-realistic.
Here are some examples of scene ideas:
Zombie attacking a guy
Abandoned cityscape
Dead body discovered in the forest
Frightened group of people driving a car
Person loading a gun
Zombies breaking down a door
Person changing into a zombie
Scary interior of an empty home
Any other scene

What a disrespectful approach, not even a word, you didn't even pay attention to the contest, many here wasted hours to give you what you asked for and you didn't even take a look at what they made. This left me with a very bad taste when it comes to this site, i can't believe contractors like this still exist.

I'm getting a bit tired of waiting for your response on my pic. Don't get it wrong dear Contest Holder, I was really excited about this contest. I sent in my first version 3 weeks(!!!) ago, and didn't get even a low 1 star, to make me sure, I'm on the wrong way. Please, check it, rank it, and let me know what to do. I'm disappointed. If you might wish to get an improved version of my pic, please rate #49 . Thank you..

i really don´t get it, you are online must of the time, yet you don't even rate half the drawings in the contest, then you don't even pick a winner, it shouldn't be that complicated.

#49 image - Dear Contest Holder. I tried to keep in mind, that you require a non-realistic scene. However, I really like to work with details. I hope I haven't failed to pass you requirements. :)

Akeidel, please can you clarify any size in cm or px or else, cause when painting is made it is hard to make it bigger not losing quality. also it is much better to start on the right size then to crop or stretch ready painting. Regards

I like the story you described in the note. And it's a cool painting, but for the style, it's too "water-colory" for me... I'm not looking for photo-realistic, but I am looking for more "in focus, not blurry" scenes. Could be cartoonish or even pencil sketches. Also, I want a scene as in a capture of a single moment in time, whereas this seems to have a character overlaid on a background scene. Thus it seems like a scene with an overlay that isn't part of the scene. I want only a scene.

Looks cool, but not enough of a "scene." Scene doesn't tell enough of a story. Best type of scene will be one that is open to many types of stories.

What style would you like--for example, monochrome as could be printed in a paperback novel, colour in an American comic-book style, CG, or something else?

Contest Holder - 11 years ago
Style is an open choice as well.

Okay, I uploaded a comic-style scene in monochrome. Please let me know what you think. I can always do something different.

There IS a larger prize... Which is the follow-on project that will happen after the contest. I may also select multiple artists for this follow-on project, so you might still "win" even if you don't get the $100.

What size do you need (dimensions & resolution) this will vary if you need it for print or web use only? Can you tell me more about the end product, for example do you need full rights for commercial use or is this a personal project? Thanks
- 11 years ago
-
Contest Holder - 11 years ago
Good questions. I'm thinking to go with dimensions for ipad in landscape mode. Personal project for now, so no full rights needed.
