Contest Brief

INTRO:
The video is for a company called 'ARM'.

ARM makes processors. Unlike the processors in your MACs and PCs which are too power hungry, ARM's processor designs are used in a much wider range of devices. Just about every phone and tablet on the planet(more than 95% atleast) run on an ARM based processor. Your smartphone too is probably ARM based. Qualcomm's Snapdragon, Samsung Exynos, Nvidia's Tegra are all ARM based processors.

Phones and tablets apart, ARM processors are used in automotive, smart toys, set-top boxes, hard disk drives, handheld gaming devices, Smart TVs, wearables like smart watches & fitness trackers, cameras & DSLRs, peripherals, vehicle engine management, data servers etc. The list is endless. In fact, ARM based products are now the most-used consumer products in the world; outflanking even Coca-Cola and McDonald's by some measures.

This relatively little-heard technology company has arguably had a more profound effect on modern living than just about any other. ARM is in every sense, the brains behind everything which is smart and efficient today.

The project:
Historically, ARM has done very little to spread a higher awareness of its good deeds. So this animation video would be the first of its kind.

1) Perhaps titled 'The brains behind everything', the idea is to create a short(not longer than 3 minutes) animation video which could take the viewers through the eyes of an individual who starts to wonder how everything around him had become so smart. The view pans first onto his advanced mobile and then across to his daughter playing with a self-learning artificially intelligent toy, a scene of his cat playing with fishes moving across the tablet screen and various other such scenarios in his day to day life(smart bike helmet, smart TV, fitness tracker, car's infotainment system, home automation/security etc etc).

He decides to find out what the brains behind all these intelligent things are. So he decides to go on an internet quest and browses extensively about the products. The words 'ARM Based' show up everywhere. This search makes him realize that just about everything cool and wonderful on the planet is ARM based. He then visits www.arm.com to find out more. The video concludes with the protagonist musing to himself. "So it's ARM everywhere..I never knew. Good they're around" and then goes out to play with his daughter.

2) Full and final product with voiceover(Brit or American) expected.

3) ARM based devices are everywhere. So if you can come up with an even better idea of how to communicate this message, it's an added bonus. Originality & efficiency definitely deserves a reward.

4) The video is intended for worldwide online consumption so a clear assumption is that no copyright violations exist in the final content.

5) Please avoid using specific brand names in your first draft.

4) High quality aside, cleverness is expected. The ideas need to morph and carry. These sample videos should give you an idea of the quality of work expected:

      I see again that a better body of work could've been received if this was a project instead of a contest. My next assignment here would definitely be a project and I will invite you to bid. I guess both the timeframe and the cost there are decided by the providers; which assures both time and pay. Thanks again.

      That's rather fair. I'd perhaps do the same. Any future assignments I create would be projects and not contests. I agree that they're a cleaner way to work since they guarantee. Unfortunately, a banner here convinced me to post a contest instead.

    its a heavy project and thats really disapointment for the 3d worker doesn't know about the destiny of such hard job, just working on maybe win prize in a less percent of probability :(

    This can be done later.
    Some of us we are very good making animations, but we don't handle other segments.

      Unfortunately it isn't very easy to revise the contest prize. I understand it's possible to hire VO freelancers right here for as less than 30 USD per minute. Would it be possible for you to hire VO at your end? The prize money was kept higher to accommodate a full and final work.

    I think, on the basis of your script, it would look cool in 3d animation as well. How about doing it in 3d. If you agree I can make you 3d animation. because the voiceover thing will look cool in 3d animation not in 2d animation. If you want me to give it a try. let me know. I will do it in 3d. You can have a look at my profile as well to get the idea of how a 3d animation will look as we have done few projects earlier as well.

But I really urge you to buy a professional voice over here and update us with it. Or you can contact me (hire me) for cheap deals for voice overs as low as $30/min in any accent you want (male, female uk, british, american, australian, etc). Thanks.
