Hi,
I'm writing a script but am stuck on a scene that needs a little scary story to be told in one scene.

The scene takes place in a hospital gift shop, the main character Jason is in a wheelchair at the ATM machine, he hears a music box. He recognizes the music box as the one that his new friend was admiring before she died and decides he wants to buy it.

He turns and sees a mother and her little girl standing in line to buy it, Jason has to much pride and is kind of arrogant so would never admit the reason he wants it is for sentimental value.

So he goes up to the mother and the little girl and proceeds to tell them a scary story about the music box and the little girl ends up crying and giving the music box to him.

Not sure if this side note about the future will help but here it is:

SIDE NOTE: Jason's friend's spirit is actually in the music box but Jason DOES NOT know it until later in the film. So might be something to work with there a foreshadowing effect maybe.

Please keep under 200 words, the less words the better.

The impact must be believable. What would be so scary that they, me or anyone else in the world would not want to buy
that music box...

In addition to the contest prize, I will include your name as a writer credit on script should it ever be made into a film.

Could you tell us a little bit more about how his friend died? It would be helpful to include some foreshadowing of the haunting. Is it alright if I include several music-box stories in one entry?

  His friend died of cancer, he met her in the hospital therapy group and was starting to become friends with her when she passed away.
