Revamp / improve logo for "Axel Company"
I am starting a company and need a modern, marketable, logo that shows both quality and excellence. I would like something simple and modern like the Caterpillar Company (CAT) logo, also in the same color choice of black and yellow. Attached is the 2 current logos and you are free to revamp those, or even come up with a better one (including the yellow color). I have also attached the Caterpillar logos for reference.

I apologize for being away, been occupied with work. Thank you all for the effort, I have rated some of your designs and I like the different ideas that you came up with. However, I have not found one that I really like, yet. Maybe this will help the design better. The company will be in the construction and manufacturing field. Therefore, as I mentioned before, I need a clear, simple yet modern font so it's easy to read. The logo needs to have a unique characteristic, so when it's put on a company car/ truck people on the street can read and identify with it right away. That's why I rejected those that are kind of hard to read. Also, I mentioned Caterpillar company for reference, but maybe we should not put a literal triangle on the logo for copyright issue. Maybe a little emphasis on the A (capitalize the A) would be nice. Thank you!

Thank you all for the entry, in general I the logo has to be simple, modern and readable, which means you don't have to over design it. The problem I had when designing the logo myself was the "X" letter and the spacing between the letters. I wanted to get rid of the pointy end of an "X"that's why in that 2 examples somehow the ends have been modified. I like simple, modern, non-italic font, (helvetica and similar) and bonus points if the logo can contain a hidden meaning (think Amazon, FedEx). Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your effort.
