I’m creating a custom-printed fabric line and need a polished, repeat-ready pattern of mermaid scales. The look I’m after is realistic—think defined ridges, soft gradients, and subtle texture that feels almost touchable. My reference swatch captures the mood, and I’ll share high-resolution photos of it as soon as we start. Color direction is set to cool tones: layered blues and greens that flow from deep teal to sea-foam. To elevate the print, I’d like the artwork rendered with a metallic shimmer effect so the printer can add a pearlescent overlay during production. Your file should make the shimmer highlights obvious without relying on glitter or flat matte shading. Key deliverables: • Seamless repeat tile (minimum 12" x 12" at 300 DPI, CMYK). • Source file in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop with editable layers. • Flattened preview PNG showing full repeat and a single tile. • Clearly separated color layers or swatches so my fabric mill can tweak hues if required. Acceptance criteria: the repeat must tile flawlessly on all sides, colors must stay within the supplied palette, and highlights should translate into a metallic foil screen when converted to spot colors.
