Konkurrence Instruktioner

We (NASA) need to develop a number of high resolution 3D models to be used for Robonaut simulations. These 3D models are to be developed based on photographs of real items (see attached files). These simulated objects would be used for various grasp and manipulator testing.

This particular challenge is to build a 3D model of the soft case for the scopemeter (portable oscilloscope). The majority of objects on space station are kept inside of soft goods containers. This allows them to be stuffed into larger bags, bungee'd down into racks, or velcro-d down in place during tasks. This object will be used as a representative of the types of items R2 may interact with.

There is a scale in the attached imagery is in inches. All final model submissions must be delivered in on of the following formats: .prt (Solidworks, ProE); .step or .stp; .iges; .stl; .dae. NOTE: Freelancer submissions will need to be image file views of your model. If you win the contest, you will then send/transfer the model files to NASA via email, dropbox, etc.

All entries will be judged on the accuracy, quality, and fidelity (detail) of the model produced. Note that where highly similar top submissions are produced, the submission entered first will win.

Arbejdsgiverfeedback

“Samar9 did an outstanding job of creating a very detailed 3D model of a scopemeter soft case for use in our NASA Robonaut simulation. This was a contest and Samar9\'s design won over multiple entries.”

Quick question for the community. Do you prefer submissions for this kind of a contest to be sealed or unsealed?

Personally I think that is better sealed because all of us make the best work that we can do,

Per an earlier posted question: We were not expecting anything beyond a static mesh with the strap taking an arbitrary form.
