Contest Brief

Osprey Mills is a small development of custom homes on large lots in a rural area of Ontario, Canada. The area is know for its natural beauty, rivers (and mills), and the ospreys that nest in the area.

Attached is a logo that the developers like along with some photographs of ospreys. We are looking for a logo similar in style to the attached sample, but that is inspired by the osprey.

The winner will be expected to make minor revisions and modifications once chosen.

    I have heard back from Freelancer. They have re-opened the contest and removed bilalansar12's entries. I have notified the client that he will have to select a new winner. Because of the time here, I probably won't hear back from him right away.

    I also wanted to comment on this situation. A lot of talented designers put in a lot of work to enter this contest and they deserve credit and respect for that. It would have been unfair if the prize had gone to someone who was breaking the rules, so we are thankful to skeuomorph for noticing the problem and bringing it to our attention.

      Some people have claimed that the logo was sufficiently changed that there wasn't really a problem. That is not true. First and foremost, a designer entered work that was not their own and that belonged to someone else. That is wrong, no matter how you look at it.

      Also, while it is true that the logo was changed significantly, the fact is that those changes were entirely a result of input from the client. If he had not requested those changes, they would not have been made.

    Thank you for this submission. It has potential. Would it be possible to see a different version. What I have in mind is changing the angle of the osprey so that it is more of a V shape. Then put a half circle behind it, like a sunrise. This will create the effect of an O and V, which works because Osprey Mills is in Osprey Valley. Let me know what you think'

      Dear CH, please becareful for copycats and logo rip-off . they lurk everywhere. I suggest that you should do some image search in google first before rating a logos(even if it's many??) as for everyone please visit www.logothief.com let's execute them in there. as for copycats and logo scavenger, well everyone has their own choice... and pride
