This contest is about designing a concert poster for a

James Bond Concert Show

played by a large symphony orchestra (80 musicians) and 8 singers
which will be presented by a comedian.
Please design a poster layout with main image/graphics including concert title,
orchestra name, conductor's name, host's name, location, date and time.

Both main image/graphics and the concert title are the main focus of the poster:
The observer must associate James Bond with the image without
seeing original Bond images - because of copyright and registered trademarks.
Please don't use any James Bond registered trademarks
like the gun with 007 or any original James Bond movie pictures.

What can be used: e.g. silhouettes (but not silhouettes of original photos), guns,
typical bond scenes, car (e.g. Aston Martin), vodka Martini, women silhouettes like
in the Bond trailers, etc.

Optional: It's also an orchestra concert show incl. light show and video projection.
If you find a good way to connect Bond and orchestra in graphics,
this would be great (see example bond poster images). Not a must.

There are some example images of Bond in the download folder that you may use -
but this is just examples... your own graphics may be much better.
You may also use graphics that require a license that costs up to 40 Eur
(see watermarked folder). Please use the freely available preview images
and exchange later when you're design wins and I have purchased the license.

You may also include photos/names of the main performers and/or orchestra.

Bottom Line:
Please leave some space at the bottom for more ticket information and sponsor logos.
Use dummy text/logos or look in the bottom line folder.

Fonts:
Any fonts maybe used as long as you can provide us with the necessary font files.
There are some fonts associated with Bond. You may use them, but it is optional (see font folder for details).

Print Format:
- Portrait or landscape - your choice
- 5915x4191 pixel at 178.4 dpi (=A1) with a 14 pixels clippings to each side
(equals 84.2cm x 59.6 cm incl. 1mm cut off border to each side,
resulting in 84.0cm x 59.4 cm (=A1) when printing)

To be delivered
All files needed to continue editing on our PC without compatibility problems. At least:
.psd file (Photoshop) and/or .ai / .svg file (e.g. Inkscape)
and
.jpg (uncompressed) of full poster and of main image only and of all non-image parts
and
.pdf of full poster
and
font files if necessary

- The date/location/time, bottom line and person names in psd/ai MUST BE EDITABLE afterwards.
- The concert title, song titles and orchestra name in psd/ai SHOULD BE EDITABLE afterwards (optional).

Rights: When your design wins, you give us all your rights of usage of the design,
especially but not only for re-editing, print media, advertising media, online media,
sublicensing, etc.
You also declare that the design was your own creation and is not an infringement of third-party rights.

Hint: watch James Bond trailers on Youtube. They will give you inspiration.

I\'m sorry for the delay, I am still waiting for the final decision. But the number of possible winners has now been reduced to only two designs: 109/174 from Frostyerica and 156 (or one its variations) from bam1878. It will probably still take a few days as we need a proof print now to have a better check of the difference. Thank you all very, very much for your participation so far !
It was my first hosted contest and I am very happy with the results and the tremendous participance. As we need some more concert posters in the near future, there will certainly be more projects or contests on concert poster design here on freelancer.com.
If you like, I am happy to get some feedback from you on me hosting the contest. I tried to give feedback very quick - especially in the first five days. Is there anything you didn\'t like or I should improve next time ? Was the project description ok ?

  I personally could not reached 5 stars
  but I think that communication in this competition was excellent!
  You did an excellent job and are very fair in your decisions
  I do not mind my design to show
  and I think it\'s a good idea to have a second and third place

My own thoughts on this contest were:
I don\'t like the idea that the winner takes it all. There were really very, very good designs - and many of you spent a lot of work on this. What do you think of the idea to spread the next contest into a contest and two 2nd/3rd place projects: the contest winner will get a little less than this time (for example 240 Eur), but the second and third best designs will also get a small amount (e.g. 50 / 30 Eur) which will be handed as awarding a \"2nd place\" and \"3rd place\" dummy project (and paying at once and giving a 5.0 feedback on the project) ? I would prefer this.

If it is ok by you (and only if you leave me a message), I could mail you an overview of the best designs. But please email me if you want to allow your design to be shared amongst the participating designers (only in private message, no public sharing) and if you want to get a mail with best designs. If I don\'t get your permission, I won\'t share.

There are currently nine 5-star designs of six designers and many, many 4-star designs. Some designers are still submitting their designs, so there maybe more. We'll have a poll at the end of the contest to see who is the winner.

One hint: watch James Bond trailers on Youtube.
They will give you many inspirations - especially the older ones. There has been some designs now using the famous gun barrel with blood red, but there should be many other possibilities.

34 entries in 2 days sounds much - but actually it is currently only 7 seven different designs which have been posted several times with minor changes.

One hint for the size of the objects and the fonts:
the design will be printed on huge posters (84cm x 59 cm=A1) and will be hung in our city on walls or metro stations etc.
So people who are passing by 10 to 20 meters away (maybe even in a car) need to see at once what is happening and should not be distracted e.g. by too much text or too little objects that they can't see clearly. To simulate that, print the design on letter/A4 size and put it 4 to 5 meters away from you. Can you still detect at once what's going on in that event ? Does it still catch your eye ?

Hi there, I would have a few questions. 1. Seeing the song list I believe the concert is not about the latest movie only but of all James Bond related scores, but considering the connection with the film, is there anything that would favor the latest Bond movie compared to the others? 2. Are the copyrighted material sensitive even if illustrated? I'm realize that using some of the photos, scenes of the movie would be copyright infringement but for example if we draw a portrait of the main character and as a drawing it would get incorporated in the poster, would that also be sensitive material?

  I didn't yet have any particular scene in mind, I was just considering the technique we should use and you did answer my question perfectly. If in the illustration the face of the actor can not be recognized then I believe there's not too much in illustrating any specific scene, it may be better to imagine one and work our ways. Thanks again.

Just to clarify: it says at the end: "Please provide AI, EPS". This is an automatic freelancer.com message for print contests and cannot be changed. This is not what I need. I need as written in the description psd, pdf, jpg,svg, ai and/or fonts. Just whatever is needed to be able to edit afterwards in Photoshop or Inkscape.
