The Test

Draw sketches and provide a colored version of Super Knitter, one of the Super Heroes Apprentice. Please provide one board with several posing.

Who is Super Knitter ?
Super Knitter is one of the Super heroes Apprentice (see description of the series below), he has two kneeting needles on him that he uses as swords and has wool around him that he can uses as ropes. He always tries his best to do things the right way but it always ends wrong...

Use the pinterest references board below, the description of the character above and the description of the universe to guide your researches. It should be a simple shape (like the minions), easy to look at, with few details, it should be a “pop and commercial” design. We must easily see the distinction between his head and his body, but it should not be a full humanoid form, more like a creature.

The universe

The Super Heroes Apprentice is a CGI web series targeting kids from 4 to 8 year old. We follow the daily life of the Supers at their university. They try to learn how to control their power but it is not always that easy.

The Supers are a mix between the Minions and the Raving Rabbits. Cute but looking a little bit dumb they are quite confident about how to use their power. But that is just an impression. In each episode we will see them misusing their power.
All the Super heroes have the same shape except for an accessory or a small change in the look (bigger arms, different texture…) that will reflect their superpower. You need to have a design easily adaptable to have the possibility to offer a variety of characters (Super Fire, Super knitted, Super Cactus, Super Sleepy… There will be 52 in total).
The design needs to be thought with a safe zone (eyes, mouth, nose). All the Super Heroes will have the same topology (same 3D rigging).

We will deepen the the researches with the winner of this contest if it corresponds to what we are looking for. (New contract)
