I’ve just returned from leading a powerful healing immersion in Jamaica and now I need a short cinematic highlight reel that captures its full emotional arc. The finished piece should feel deeply inspirational, giving viewers a glimpse of the transformation that unfolded while motivating them to join our next retreat. Here’s what absolutely must shine through: • Workshops and seminars where breakthroughs happened • Intimate personal experiences and stories that made the journey unique • The island’s breathtaking locations and the activities that grounded our work in nature I imagine a rhythm that flows—from calm reflection to joyful release—supported by uplifting music, smooth transitions, tasteful text overlays, and color-graded footage that celebrates Jamaica’s vibrant palette. Deliverables 1. A polished 3-5 minute highlight reel in 4K (plus a 60-second social teaser) 2. Clean audio mix and licensed soundtrack that reinforces the inspirational tone 3. Final export in both horizontal and vertical formats, along with project files or an edit-ready XML for future tweaks If this resonates with your storytelling style, I’d love to see how you can weave our footage into an inspiring visual keepsake. I want this film to capture the full emotional journey of our Jamaica healing immersion. LINK FOR VIDEOS: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Qh-8pNgMTSo0Pbl1b-s7XraxQ4-z0p1m?usp=sharing This should not feel like a traditional retreat recap or a montage of vacation clips. I want it to feel like a short cinematic film about women returning to themselves through healing, culture, ancestral wisdom, sisterhood, nature, pleasure, and joy. The viewer should experience an emotional progression: Healing → Release → Connection → Learning → Sisterhood → Pleasure → Freedom → Joy There should be moments that feel intimate and almost sacred to witness, followed by moments that feel expansive, vibrant, playful, and alive. By the end of the film, I want someone watching to think: “I want to experience this. I want to be in that circle. I want to learn this way. I want this kind of sisterhood. I want to feel this free.” OPENING: THE RELEASE Approx. 0:00–0:25 Open slowly and emotionally. Begin with some of the most powerful footage from ceremony and healing: Women crying or releasing emotion Women being held, hugged, comforted, or supported Sacred circle footage Prayer Eyes closed Hands touching or holding Women sitting together in reflection Ceremonial moments Close-ups of tears, hands, fabrics, altars, nature, faces, and other intimate details Moments of stillness between women The opening should communicate that something deeper than a vacation is happening here. Allow certain clips to breathe instead of cutting rapidly. The music should begin soulful, emotional, ancestral, or cinematic. The feeling should be: We came here carrying something. REMEMBRANCE + CULTURAL LEARNING Approx. 0:25–0:50 Begin transitioning from emotional release into knowledge, tradition, and cultural connection. Include footage of: Meeting and sitting with elders Listening to elders teach Conversations and storytelling Learning about Jamaican traditions Learning about herbs and plants Nature walks Picking or touching plants Women asking questions Close-ups of plants, hands, soil, trees, water, and the landscape Working with the midwife Learning ceremonial wrapping techniques Closing practices using fabric Women practicing the wraps on one another Teaching moments between myself, the women, elders, and practitioners This section should establish that this experience is also about education, lineage, cultural wisdom, and learning directly from people who carry these traditions. The viewer should see that the women are not simply being entertained. They are being taught, poured into, and transformed. SISTERHOOD + BREAKING BREAD Approx. 0:50–1:10 Transition into the relationships being created between the women. Show: Women eating together Beautiful food Plates being served Toasting or raising glasses Conversations over meals Laughter at the table Women talking in small groups Hugs Car rides Singing or laughing in the car Candid moments between activities Shopping Walking through markets or local communities Women helping one another Quiet friendship moments I want this portion to communicate: Healing happens in community. Some of the most important moments of this experience happen between the scheduled activities: over food, during car rides, while shopping, while getting dressed, and while simply sitting beside another woman. Capture those moments. PLEASURE + FREEDOM Approx. 1:10–1:40 This is where the film should begin to EXPAND. The music can shift or build into something more rhythmic, joyful, sensual, and celebratory. Show: The yellow bathing suit footage Women walking together in their bathing suits Dancing Laughing Water rafting Jumping into the Blue Hole Lagoon footage Swimming Splashing Waterfalls Women floating or relaxing in the water Beautiful shots of Jamaica Nature Women dancing together Movement Playfulness Confidence Pleasure Adventure Use some slow motion here, particularly for water, jumping, dancing, laughter, and the yellow bathing suit scenes. The feeling should shift from: “I am releasing.” to “I am alive.” This section should feel like freedom. JOY + CELEBRATION Approx. 1:40–1:55 Bring together the BEST joyful footage from the entire experience. Quickly weave between: dancing → water → laughter → sisterhood → food → elders → ceremony → nature → yellow bathing suits → hugs → learning → car rides → shopping → Blue Hole → women celebrating The editing can become faster here as the music reaches its emotional peak. I want to see faces. I want to see bodies moving. I want to see women laughing without reservation. I want to see sisterhood. I want to see Jamaica. I want the viewer to feel the pleasure, beauty, cultural richness, and freedom of being present in this experience. FINAL MOMENT Approx. 1:55–2:00 After the energetic climax, give us one final beautiful, grounding image. Possible ending shots: The women standing together A group embrace Women walking away together A beautiful ocean or landscape shot Women holding hands A sacred circle A powerful shot of the women in yellow A final moment of laughter Then fade to black. Possible final text: We came to Jamaica to remember. To release. To learn. To receive. To experience pleasure. To return to ourselves. Then: In Grace Yoga Therapy or the name of the retreat/immersion. Editing Style The film should feel cinematic, intimate, culturally rich, feminine, luxurious, ancestral, joyful, and emotionally moving. Please prioritize storytelling over trying to include every single clip. I would rather see 40 incredible moments that tell a story than 100 clips moving too quickly to feel anything. Use a combination of: Wide cinematic landscape shots Close-ups of faces and emotions Detail shots of hands, fabrics, food, plants, water, and ceremony Slow motion Natural sound where appropriate Music builds and transitions Longer emotional shots in the beginning Increasingly energetic cuts toward the pleasure/joy portion If we have strong natural audio, I would love brief moments where the music drops underneath the sound of: laughter, water, singing, prayer, an elder speaking, women cheering, or a meaningful statement from one of the women. Those moments can make the film feel much more intimate and documentary-like. Most Important Creative Direction This film should answer one question without explicitly saying it: What does it feel like to be here? It should show that our experiences are not simply retreats. They are spaces where women can release, remember, learn, receive ancestral and cultural wisdom, build genuine sisterhood, experience adventure, reconnect with pleasure, and return home carrying something different than what they arrived with. The audience should not simply see Jamaica. They should feel the transformation that happened there. The Beginning and Opening should say "Daughters of the Drum Retreat" by In Grace Yoga Therapy and Soul Glo Retreats LINK FOR VIDEOS: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Qh-8pNgMTSo0Pbl1b-s7XraxQ4-z0p1m?usp=sharing
