  Yes, that's very close. You can keep the main character's face in the shadows and if there were bodies under the UNCLEAN, that would be good.

Just for an update:
#1 is great for a backgrounf.
#2 is NOT what I want at all.
#3 has some good elements, but looking for Auction to be more classy - and it doesn't have to be associated with the windows + blood/body bags. Slick way of doing the detective.

This is looking good - if I get a few more than look like this I will definitely guarantee it.

  Moto, #1 is a great background - add in the auction + some shadowed figure for the detective looking down at a body + some of the sexual items and that'd be really good.

if it`s a futuristic novel then the characters and background should be futuristic?

  Not necessarily. This is very much more of a "Blade Runner" future, not necessarily a shiny, modern future, so grunge and grime still apply. Having a couple of things that look futuristic is fine, but that's not the point of the novel - it's set in the future but is a pretty standard detective novel - likely to be the start of a series, this one is about investigating the murder of three prostitutes in a really horrible part of town.
