Description of the game and board-layout:
* this is a 6-person game where players each will move their (three) sheep from their paddock to the green field ("sæters")
* players will move their pawns (sheep) across a rectangular board, approximately 50x35 cm
* each of the four corners, as well as the middle positions of the long ends of the rectangular board are starting positions (paddocks/den)
* the positions for the pawns are on predetermined, connected positions, laid out in a oval shape
* the theme or setting is norwegian nature, with mountains, forests, green fields, paths, small lakes and rivers
* the style is cartoon
Check out the uploaded jpg.

The assignment:
1. design this board
2. design icons for the positions: tree, house, river, grass, road
3. design additional icons for a sheep and a wolf
4. design patterns so that color blind people can participate: the pattern on the starting positions matches those for the end positions
(the icons will be used on a dice).

Note:
1. Please use primary colors for the icons and patterns
2. For additional natural theming, feel free to use softer colors and gradients
3. Please use a cartoon-style look & feel as this is a children's game

Hi! I see in your references that there are a vector icons with gradient and rich color not only primary color what you want. Do u want similar quality like references or more simple than its? Only for introduction and consideration, I'm a board and card game designer too. Please see my portofolio or find me at BGG. I hope I can assist u in this project. Thanks :D

Hi, I have a question. Should I make a model of how to look themselves pawns? What format should my file should it be a vector? :)

Vector is not required at this point; the design of the pawns is also not included in this project.

I think it might be a good idea to post these links.they give an ok idea of what I think might work (in case you don't have an idea of your own).

The 6 "houses" are the paddocks which are the starting points for each player's sheep. They have their own color, which will correspond with the sheep (if I can source colored sheep that is). The sheep travel around the board clockwise, and then into the lanes, just before they hit their starting point.
E.g.: The white sheep's paddock is bottom right, the "iglo". Their starting point is the little circle with grass (yes, that's grass :-) ) right outside their door; each sheep will travel (how far is decided by throwing a dice), clockwise past all other houses, until it has made a full circle, and then it travels up the small path which is connected to the circle with the house.

      I'm feeling sheepish :-§

      Grass, river, trees, house, road.

Beginning with the starting point for white (bottom right), which is grass, the following sequence:
grass, river, forest, house, road, forest, forgotten (yellow startpoint) - should be house, grass, river, forest, house, grass, forest, road, house, river, grass, forest, river, road, forest, house, river, forest, road, grass, house, forest, river, road, house, forest, grass, road, river, house.

The entire drawing is just for clarification, and so the the symbols too, as well as the patterns of the end-positions.
To reiterate (and further clarify in case I was not clear), I hope that the background on the board will depict nature, with mountains, forests, green fields, paths, small lakes and rivers.

Thank you for asking. The starting point is usually the circle/point/position after the one that leads up to the end positions. So for black, it's the "water" circle (yup, that's what that blue thingy is supposed to mean), for red it's the tree, for yellow it's the gray circle where I realize I forgot to draw a picture instead).

Could you give an explanation of what the black red and yellow starting points are? Do you want the symbols to look like you have made them, only more stylized, or are they just for the sake of information about what should be there? Should the "additional icons for a sheep and a wolf" be a separate file for cards or something or should they be placed on the board?

The blue structure is a paddock made of stones with a gate (blush).
Indicative for the reason why I should not illustrate myself :-)
