I would like a character that can do the following:
Turn right or left
walk forward
bend down or reach up
pick up a box
turn around
walk back to original location with the box
place the box on a table

I would like all action configurable. Example: Turn left, walk 10 feet, reach down and pick up a box, stand up (holding the box),turn right, walk 10 feet and place the box on a table.

The attached image shows a factory assembly line with the style of workers that I am looking for.

To all contestants. I am very impressed with the submissions. They have all exceeding my expectations. So thank you!! But I do have a few questions:

    1) is everything configurable by global variable or do I configure each variable when I instantiate the object? I plan to have multiple factory workers doing things based on events triggered from outside of the application, so it is important that each object have its own configurable parameters and action instructions.

    2) How do you detect that you are at the table? Does your object detect the table based on the position of the table or by proximity, or something else?

    3) Eventually, I will want to add the ability for the object to pick up parts and put into the box and then pick up a bar code scanner and scan the box's bar code and then press a stop and start button on the assembly line. Can you do this type of work after the competition is awarded and what would you charge to do it (please reply privately)

      1) I think it is possible to implement reading of variables from xml-file or something else by AJAX requests.
      2) based on the position and the size of the table (or pinned to it object of other size) and the position of a worker
      3) ... we can not reply privately on this website if the contest is not sealed or if you haven't chosen the winner. This is an additional work. It can take some time and efforts. Could you extend the contest, increase the price and seal the contest so we could submit new entries privately and according to your new requests? You could also contact us by email but I guess it violates the rules or this website.

I use the X coordinate and the width of the objects to determine their location. Class Person has two methods.
Person.nearBox () - returns the nearest box to which a person can reach. If there is no box, it returns null.
Person.nearTable () - returns the nearest table to which a person can reach. If the table is not, it returns null.
Box.isOnFloor () - returns True if the box is on the floor, or False
Box.isOnTable () - returns True if the box is on the table, otherwise False
Box.isOnPerson () - Returns true if the person has a box, otherwise False
Boks.parent () - Returns the parent element. This can be Null, Table, Person.

microshine, This is awesomely fantastic! Just what I was looking for. Any chance you can create the box and have him pick it up and carry it?

glezsote, that looks awesome! It might be better to have each step match a specific distance. Example: If you want the character to move 9 feet, then take 3 steps of 3 feet each step would make it look more professional. But I love what you have done!!

I kind of prefer the blue and yellow man, but the actions looks spot on. When he places the box down, can it be at table height? or for that matter is it an option to choose the height he picks from (low, middle or high) and where he drops (low, middle or high) . I glanced at the code: well done! Clean, easy layout, and object oriented. I'm impressed.

You can use your own tools to generate it, but the final result must be standard jQuery / JavaScript using variables that can be dynamically set. Does this answer your question?

Hello! I have a question: is it mandatory to build this by the guidelines provided? I usually use a development software for these animations /games, so the code of the file might look very differrent, so I want to know if that might be a problem for further use.
