Hi, folks. I have had a great time with these contests and thought I should give it a shot for another thing. I recently held contests to update publicity photos for my full band (http://www.freelancer.com/contest/contest.php?project_id=47454) and my duo act (http://www.freelancer.com/contest/contest.php?project_id=50994), but I still perform most of the shows I do on my own, so I realized I should probably get some new publicity shots, or at least, improve some of the ones taken previously.

As with the other contests, these were decent quality pictures but have boring backgrounds, so I never used them at the time. But I like how I look in these pictures, so hopefully someone can do something fun with one of them that I could use as a publicity shot. I perform concerts and school assemblies for kids (especially ages 3-10), and my show has been described as: bursting with comedy, creativity, audience participation and outrageously fun songs. So that is what I'm looking to represent here. Be careful about the description of me doing concerts for kids, though, because I probably don't want something that would come across too babyish or gummy bears and rainbows and all that. My music is more rock style than anything else. If you look at the previous contests and some of the things I rated highly (and compared to things that were not high rated), you can probably get an idea of what might work. I would also recommend checking out my website and videos for some ideas. Look up Eric Herman on YouTube and Google.

Pick one (or more) of the three pictures to add a different background (and possibly foreground or floor), or cut me out of a picture and put me somewhere else entirely. Whatever works. Two of the pictures (pic1 and pic2) are very similar to each other, so it is probably negligible which one of those you would pick. But pic3 is different, and in a way I like that one best because I am a little more active in the shot, but there is an additional problem on that one in that I am smiling with my mouth open, and I do not have the greatest looking teeth. But if you want to use that one, and can also touch up the teeth in a way that looks natural (coloration, softening the one fang a little), then go for it. The tip of one of my fingers is also barely cut off in that picture, though that may not be noticeable.

VERY IMPORTANT!!!!! Do not use any licensed imagery!! If your entry has Disney or Star Wars images, or anything like that, I CANNOT USE IT!! I would hate to see your time and effort wasted, so please use only original material, or public domain.

I am not a huge fan of extra words or symbols like musical notes and stuff like that. That being said, the right thing is the right thing, whatever it includes, and I certainly will not rule out entries just because they include extra words or musical notes. But keep that in mind.

I will try to provide feedback as best I can throughout the contest. I may be pretty blunt, though, but please understand everything is subjective for me and not necessarily a reflection of the work. You might do excellent work, but for some reason the idea doesn't grab me. But the hope is to get you and others pointing in the right direction.

I have almost no budget for this, but in addition to whoever wins the contest, I will also offer $15 as a runner-up prize of sorts, if there are other pictures that did not win that I think I might be able to use, especially if they happen to be from a different pose than the winner. If that is the case, I will offer to hire you as a separate project to use your entry file(s).

I say this every time, but I am really blown away by the talent and effort shared here. This may be my hardest choice yet, as there are probably 5 or 6 real contenders. I'm going to show all of the entries to my girls and my agent and we'll pick a winner (and a couple of runner-up winners) over the next few days. Happy 2014, everyone!

#105 : Good, but the playground slide is too big, proportionately, and it's disturbing that a kid would slide right into the path of the school bus on the street. :o) Actually, the school bus eventually driving off the ledge is also a little scary, but that's more subtle. Anyway, I do really like this idea. If you win or place as a runner-up, we could tweak it a little more at that point, eh?

#76 / #77 : I think I would like this a lot more if the elephant were bigger and fatter. It doesn't look quite right as it is.

#102 : I like that a lot. I'm not sure you'll have time at this point, but yes, if you could add a few other things, that would be good. Maybe an elephant, a roller coaster, an airplane in the "sky." Stuff like that.

  Also, looking more closely at it, I think I would prefer it to be an island in the sky kind of thing, so the background is just clouds (I can faintly see buildings in the background on the sides). Cool idea, though.

I like #91 and #93 quite a lot, except that the zebra isn't seen well in either. In #91 all we see is the zebra's butt, and in #93 the face should be looking out around to the left of me. I would also love an elephant to be in #91 .

#48 : Good, but too much red, and my image looks a little dark and reddish, and I'm not sure it feels "kid" enough. Not bad, though.

  I said in the brief, and several times since, that I don't like musical notes as part of these kind of things. I also don't like the shading/lighting of my image the way you have it. But for #84, if you took out the musical notes, and used the original coloring of my image, that might be pretty good.

#67 : Unfortunately, that's a big step backwards for me. Going back to #15 , I really like the idea of me standing on a hill, with the road going up, and all of the extra images (birds, planes, etc.) being small and in silhouette, not cartoons as you have them now. So more like #17 , but pull out a bit, and use the other colors (red/purple) and change some of the images.

Wow, so many new entries! Thank you, everyone. Unfortunately, I need to go out for a few hours right now, so I can't comment on anything at the moment. When I get back I will try to comment and rate as much as I can, but at this point, with less than a day left, I may only comment on things that I think really have a chance to be contenders, but for a tweak or two.

#49 : I like the multi-colored pictures the best. That shows off the gimmick of the image the best. Very cool. One thing that would have to be changed is the atomic bomb in the lower left (or whatever it is... but it looks like an atomic bomb).

#43 : I like the blackboard behind me, which might work for some things I do (school assemblies). I'm not crazy about the checkered floor, though, and that step stool doesn't really fit that well.
