Develop a Corporate Identity for Consultancy Company

Contest Brief

Background:

We are a two year old small consulting company, that is expanding and requires a corporate identity, for use across email, letters, powerpoint templates, and business cards. The identity will later be used to develop a website (not in scope of this project), so will need to be suitable for this later project.

The project scope includes logos for several uses (read below), a banner for invoices, business card design, letter-head, word document template for letters and proposals, and a MS powerpoint template. The logo will replace an existing logo (attached).

The Company and Industry:

The company is "Keyholder Pty Ltd", a small, top-end Australian consultancy business, specialising in management of large, complex high technology projects, on a national scale. Examples are a national Air Traffic Control System, satellite communications systems, shipbuilding projects, aerospace projects. Clients are large corporate and Government entities.

Design Guidance:

The corporate identity should convey the following values: Serious, Trust, confidentiality, elite top-end expertise, confidentiality, secure, specialising in advanced-technology. The design may take advantage of the company name and domain name of "keyholder", and the existing logo (as attached) to convey the values of special knowledge that unlocks a problem, security and trust.

To assist you with the design, we offer some industry peer websites. Don't copy or feel constrained by these - they are just a guide. An example of the look/feel that we would be comfortable with is at http://www.assuritas.com.au, including the co-branding with an ICCPM logo. Other examples are http://www.wiredconsulting.com, http://www.riskdecisions.com, http://www.noventus.com.au and http://www.codarra.com.

The company sometimes works in partnership with the "International Centre for Complex Project Management" (refer to https://iccpm.com) and has co-branding rights, so the deliverables should have an option to include or not include the ICCPM logo (as attached to this brief).

Deliverables:

All deliverables must be suitable for use with MS Office for Mac 2011, Apple Mail V 7.3 for OSx and for Google Apps for Business, as these are the main tools that we use.

Versions of the logo are required to be suitable to upload into our cloud-based workflow tool, http://www.workflowmax.com, and this has to be precisely sized as per our current logo file, attached for reference. Logos for WorkflowMax reports are specified at http://support.workflowmax.com/entries/465159-Personalise. We are also seeking a banner that can be uploaded into WorkflowMax, for which the requirements are also specified at http://support.workflowmax.com/entries/465159-Personalise.

Another version of the logo has to be suitable to upload to our cloud-based accounting tool, https://www.xero.com, and the logo requirements are available on Xero's website at http://help.xero.com/help/howto/Q_InvoiceLogo.htm.

The business card template should include fields for post-nominals, address, phone number, email, website, Twitter handle and LinkedIn address.

The letter-head and Word document template for letters and proposals is open to suggestions.

The MS powerpoint template should include a title page and one or two content pages.

We want to be able to use, maintain, modify, develop the deliverables, into the future. To enable this, the job is to include grant to Keyholder Pty Ltd of rights to use, maintain, modify, develop the deliverables. The job should include industry standard file-types that would be suitable for a graphic designer and/or printer to make future changes. We have read that this is sometime done in .AI format (high quality vector), ready for printing, with PANTON colour codes, but we would welcome better advice on this from proposers, if this is not the best way to proceed.

    Thanks you to all freelancers who submitted. At the end, there were three very high quality designs that were very hard to selected from. I had to use polling to make the final selection.     Thank you to all for some excellent submissions. I have just given a round of feedback and rejected those that are unlikely to be selected in the contest. I want to those freelancers for the effort - I am endeavouring to give early feedback to freelancers that are unlikely to be awarded the job, so that you can re-focus.     It is not essential to have "Pty Ltd" in the logo. This may help some designs to be made more balanced.

    I have just read the advice in freelancer FAQs, which says: "To use the design online on a website, as a banner or other advertising we recommend PSD and JPG file files.
    To use the design for print as a letterhead, business card or for t-shirts we recommend AI and EPS formats.". Unless the contest winner has alternative recommendations, please assume this to be the requirements.

      Usually banners are JPG, PNG, developed in Photoshop, Fireworks, sometimes Illustrator. I for example work with Illustrator (designs), InDesign (for brochures, magazines, etc.), Photoshop (photo manipulation). So yes, if you request source formats, it should be provided in AI, EPS, INDD, PSD formats. Some use Corel for vector design, instead of Illustrator. So they could give you .CDR formats. Hope this helps.
